I love the idea of a fitness tracking ring with NO membership. However I was never able to create an account except through Apple, the ring doesn’t work more than it works, it doesn’t connect with My Fitness App or the Apple Health App, and there is NO customer support. I wish it worked but I have to send it back. Read more

I had no issues whatsoever getting this ring set up on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. The SO+ APP was right where it should be, on the play store. Unfortunately for the earlier reviewers, the software was a tad late to the play store so instead users had to download the APK. While I agree that installing random APKs on your android phone is definitely not recommended, those same recommendations break down when you are dealing with a manufacturer who is only doing everything it can to speed up production. This ring is inexpensive and light, so I don’t notice it as much on my finger. These rings are a tad bit thicker than most but they have to put the battery somewhere. I waited a few days before doing this review because I needed to see how well it tracked my sleep. I have a very hard time sleeping because of a car accident, extreme neck and back pain as well as a traumatic brain injury, so it’s very important to keep these numbers for my doctors. It absolutely serves its purpose as described. Definitely recommended Read more

Simply would not connect no matter what I tried (and I have 20 years of IT and computer troubleshooting experience). Seems like a fairly nice ring, but useless because it would not connect to the app no matter what I did. Instructions are pretty terrible too. Contacted support and they never replied to my email. Returned. Read more

I am a 31+ year IT veteran and executive. My hobby, if we're still allowed to have those, is playing with the newest technology so I have over 120 devices on my network at any given time. I have been through a plethora of devices from bleeding edge to expensive but stable so I get what it's like to try "beta" devices. That's all just to say I'm not a novice. I loved the idea of health tracking via IoT so like most, I started with an Apple Watch. I was quickly disappointed at the lack of functionality for health and the 24 hour battery with no sleep tracking (it has to charge sometime) so I found a smart ring called to Motiv which I must have been their only beta tester for because over a couple of years I went through 8 of them. I always sent feedback but some only made it 6 weeks - the longest was just under their 6 month warranty. Junk but expensive and the earliest to the market at the time. I then saw the Oura was being used during the pandemic by the NBA and gave it a shot. I am now on a Gen3 and have never had an issue with any of them and I NEVER take it off except to charge it. I get amazing statistics and I use them regularly even in communication with my doctor. When I had the chance to test this new smart ring that was 1/3 the cost of the Oura I though - OF COURSE!. Garbage. My positive comments: it's lightweight, it fits well, I love the little charging box and the USB-C connector. Other than that its absolute garbage. IF it connects to your phone (I have a brand new iPhone 15) at all you get partial readings. It does constantly for no known reason. I have tried to charge it for hours and I have tried to just top it off - in both cases, waiting until the light turns green. Doesnt matter. It's either not holding a charge right out of the box - brand new - or something else is happening but I gave up trying to troubleshoot it after 3 days. I'd love to share the data it collects but it collects very little - theoretically the right data - but it never actually collects anything. I wore my Oura on my right ring finger, and this on the left for a side by side. Garbage if any data. I switched hands just for fun. Garbage if any data. The most common interaction I have with it is it telling me the ring is disconnected. I occasionally get connected and I only know this because I can see the battery indicator which shows full - every time I connect. Not sure why they have an update wheel because it rarely works. Live data is only useful if the ring is connected which is rare. I thought it might be the app version but am running the latest (1.4.34) and the ring firmware finally updated to the latest after 2 days and 6 log out/log in's and at least a dozen failures. Unlike most of these devices they want it to NOT be connected to power for charging which is mind blowing. Ring version is 87-43, again purported to be the latest. I am giving up on this ring because after three days of being irritated with the amount of time I've spent finding ways for it to not work, I'm done. Do not buy this ring. It should never have made it out of engineering in this condition. Garbage. Read more
