I have been using this smart scale with BMI body fat and muscle measurements for several weeks and it has quickly become a helpful part of my health routine. The scale feels sturdy and well made and gives consistent readings each time I step on it. Setup was simple and the app connects easily to sync all of my data. I like that it tracks more than just weight and includes BMI body fat and muscle metrics so I can get a clearer picture of my progress over time. The measurements update quickly and I appreciate that the app shows trends and makes it easy to compare changes week to week. The design is sleek and modern and looks great in my bathroom. I originally got this scale for our teenage son who is in his "get-fit" phase, but it's been useful for all of us in the house. This scale looks complicated and daunting at first glance because it measures so much more than just weight (like body fat, muscle mass, BMI, heart rate, etc.), but it's surprisingly simple and easy to use. The scale takes 4 AAA batteries (which were included and taped on the inside of the box -- love that!), and the Fitdays app was quick and easy to set up. I only had to set up the Bluetooth one time when I first connected the app to the phone, but other than that, the Bluetooth sync happens on its own. You stand on it barefoot for about 10 seconds until it records the data to your app, and then you can go in later and look at the additional measurements it took at your own pace. At first, I thought we all had to share one account if we are in the same house because of the "+" symbol for adding members, but we all downloaded the app and created our own separate accounts, and it syncs individually for all of us with no issues at all. I've tried a number of digital scales over the years, trying to find the perfect one. This small, mirror-finish scale looks great, but without using the app it only provides weight. With the app, it provides all kinds of other readings, but a lot of them seem questionable. Plus, once I connected to the scale with the app, the readings switched to metric and I was unable to find a way to switch them back. (I only used the app a few times in test mode, since I'm not providing biometric data to an app I don't know.) My old, trusty scale started to read higher, so I replaced it with another, which ended up giving much lower readings (usually 4.4 pounds) but closer to what a mechanical dial scale I have says. This scale reads in between the two, about 2 pounds higher than the lower one. (That was before it switched to metric; most scales have a switch on the bottom to switch units, but not this one, so I guess I'm stuck with it unless I want to register with the app.) This scale works great to provide your weight. However, none of the other features work without the app. If you plan to use the app, that's fine, but if not, be aware that it won't give any of the other information. I do question the accuracy of the other readings, too. It seems that once you have established readings, it's hard to get them to budge, even when real-world measurements indicate otherwise. For example, body fat percentage doesn't change with physical measurements of my belly, and your hydration level can skew results (such as before and after a sweaty workout or run). Muscle mass makes a big difference, but this scale doesn't seem able to tell the difference. The stated battery life of this scale is pretty disappointing, probably due to that other functionality. It claims to have a 120-day life. My other scales can go over a year with the same batteries, so going through a dozen AAA batteries each year seems excessive. That said, I haven't been using the scale long enough to know if the battery life really is that bad. Overall, this scale seems par for the course as far as these smart scales go, in terms of other measurements. I'd rather have real body composition measurements done accurately every few months than be given unreliable data. The irreversible switch to metric, without an apparent way to change it back, is frustrating. I had hoped to replace my other scale with this one, but it doesn't offer enough for the price to convince me to switch. I'll stick with my cheap scale. Read more
