Works with Google home! Easy to set up with app on phone, works anywhere. To add to Google home go to add device, then Smart life and connect to plug and name it. Then you can control it by voice! I got it for my bedroom ceiling fan/light, if it gets too cool I can just tell Google home to turn off bedroom switch! The instructions only tell how to add to Alexa, but its easy as I said to connect to a Google home. Doesn't take up too much space on my power strip I can use the plug next to it. Read more

This is the 3rd smart plug I've tried to setup with Google Home. I was pretty sure the other plugs worked fine, but the instructions were so poor that I couldn't figure out where I went wrong. Turns out it was the wifi connection. I was placing the plug too far away from the 2.4ghz router. Though I have a mesh system, that is 5g. I moved the plug close to the router ran SmartLife again to setup and this time it worked! I then moved he plug back where I wanted it and it maintained the connection just fine. Read more

Does not work for me. All I want is for the plug to go on at sunset and go off at sunrise. I do not have it connected to another device like Alexa or Google Assistant. I downloaded the app and set it to automation and then set selection for sunset/sunrise. On bottom of screen it says "effective period night." It does not shut off at sunrise, it stays on all the time, but I can turn the plug on and off remotely from my cell phone. I have a Kasa plug and light switch and both work great for sunset/sunrise settings. If you just want to control the plug remotely, this is the plug for you. If you want to actually have it go on & off to sunset/sunrise buy a Kasa. Read more

I bought one, and then I bought another one. Using them in different parts of the house to turn on the lights when requested. I even have one timed to turn off at a certain time--- namely my child's bedtime! It's a great reminder that it's time for lights out, literally. You have to download an app to connect the plug with your internet and with your Echo, but after that it's smooth sailing. So great to be able to walk into a dark room and turn the lights on without having to search for a switch or bumping into things in the dark trying to get to a lamp. So happy with the price point too--- I can't believe these are so inexpensive. I'll probably get one more for the Christmas lights near December! I'd give these 10 stars if I could. Read more

I have a lot of smart plugs and bulbs and have become a pro at setting them up. Until I met this one. It took me about two hours to get it working because I originally plugged it in where it was going to live, which was in a surge protector with my living room TV connected to it. The TV is about 50ft from my Gigablast modem/router which has great range and speeds and is in a different room but with no full walls blocking signal. I have a Ring doorbell outside about 7 feet from the TV which has no connection problems. I also have another smart plug 5 feet from this one, in the same room that looks identical to this one and I believe they are the same just rebranded. That one setup no problem. Since this was the cheapest one I’ve bought, I assumed it just was going to be a lot of fidgeting with the software to get it going. I tried every way possible many many times. After no success, I decided to plug it in to an outlet 2 feet away from the router and boom, it instantly connected and setup on the apps (Smart Life & Alexa). Unplugged it and plugged back in with the TV and got errors on the apps that device was unresponsive and had a poor connection. Basically the plug is useless to me because I can’t use it for what I intended to. So, for everyone who says it’s a POS that never connects, it will most likely if you’re close to your router. Of course all electronics have duds and at this price point I’m sure there is quite a few of them, but it’s worth a try to plug it in closer to the router and see if you can find another use for it. As cheap as it is, to me it’s not worth the hassle of sending it back. Moral of the story is: you get what you pay for, this plug has a weak WiFi signal but does work if you’re close to a router. We don’t use Alexa this n our household, we’re an Apple household. This product didn’t work with the Apple “Home” app, but that’s ok because it had its own app. Setup was super quick and simple. I took 5 minutes to see how to navigate the app and set up the on & off timers. I can pop on to the app while away from home and cycle it on & off. I liked the first one so much I quickly ordered a few more for my other needs. Great bargain too at 1/3 the price of similar smart plugs sold locally Read more
