The leather wasn't soft. I've felt this brand in the store and this was much rougher. You must wear socks going all the way to the top or it will rub on your leg. The back piece the strings are in is not part of the boot. They've added a strip. Read more

No wonder they were on sale for $79.99 + tx... because they sold me the ones with the uneven brown varnish on the toes one boot has more tint on the toe than the other.. and when I went back to check the price on the amazon they all were $129 for the others... so I will keep them but I'm slightly disappointed because they could have notified me of a slight imperfection and then offered me a discount... but I got them for $80 plus tax and even though they are a tad bit snug at the front of my feet I know they will eventually loosen up because they are genuine leather... And I usually wear a size10 in mostly all my shoes for comfort but these are a size10 with a snug fit so you might wanna size up if you can not wait to break them in for comfort also the caramel leather is just a smidget lighter than the picture Read more

Sofft has always been a good brand, their leather is great quality and their shoes are comfortable and stylish. Even though I'm not a fan of laces in the back of a boot, I didn't mind because it was a good brand. When they arrived the luggage color was gorgeous and the quality of this boot was exceptional. The fit was very good in the foot bed, but the boot shaft was a little too tight for my preferance. Yes, could zip the boots all the way up comfortably, but there is not much wiggle room in the ankle and calf. They fit like a second skin, sort o form-fitting, furthermore the lace up in the back has an actual open/loose leather tongue rather than sewn and webbed to the boot itself (a cost cutting move to use less leather, I presume). These boots are short and low heeled (which is what I wanted) and they look very nice except for the snug fit above the foot. I also bought a different styled pair of Sofft low heeled short boots earlier this year (Lallana Boots) with a really nice western blanket design but had the same snug fit in the calf. If Sofft wants to skimp on the roominess of their short style boots, I don't see where I would want to keep buying this style from them. If you have thin calves or if you're someone that likes a snug fit in the calves then this boot would be fine. Really wanted to keep them but will most likely return. Read more
