I was very happy with the purchase of this item. It was not over priced, had 3 openings & checked all other boxes I had. It’s not purple or any other pretty color, but I would buy it again & highly recommend it for the price & the quality of its design & build. My cat was maybe a bit big for the carrier, but she traveled very well in it, mostly staying in the darker end of it for our journey. I used the handles as well as the shoulder strap & suitcase strap & all worked perfectly. The end zipper pocket held the few items I needed it to. The removable board for the bottom was secure & didn’t bow at all. I think the only thing that could make it better would be to include some sort of temporary cover to put over the carrier to help make it dark. I will note, after calling the airlines (Southwest) & confirming their size requirement (larger than what is presented at their website) for a carrier, this carrier was 2” smaller (1” wide & 1” tall) than the measurements I was given but it did NOT fit under the seat in front of me. I had to push down & then forward on the frame of the carrier to get it under the seat, but it still wouldn’t go under more than 3”. A full flight & distracted stewards, they didn’t notice & we made it through 2 flights, thank God! As I shopped carriers, this one was average & more on the smaller size than most, so, beware of airplane seat space having been decreased! This is exactly what I needed. Good quality, strong, well-made, perfect size for my large cat, Sofia. However, the smell is horrible. I had to wear a thick mask to scrub it down two times and air it out on the balcony. A very toxic odor that's not good for humans or animals. I wish I could have thrown it in the washer but not possible. Don't know if it from the fabric itself or from the plastic packaging. Please try to make an improvement on this aspect of the item. I ordered two of these crates the 17 inch one and they are perfect for my large cats. At first I was hesitant because I didn't think there was going to be enough room but they are very roomy. They also come with a soft insert as well. They are well-made, sturdy, and the zippers work great, and I like the windows on side so cats can look out!
