I did not expect much, I got these to go in our garden and oh my gosh they are so much bigger and so fun I am really glad I ordered these. They will arrive all bunched up with a twisty tie around the very lightweight metal fronds I will call them. You do need to make sure you charge them for 8 hours and make sure the solar panel is facing somewhere that gets good sun access. The colors are very bright and vibrant. You will have to fluff them and separate all of the little fronds with the lights attached to them. This will take a little bit of time but you only have to do it once. The plastic and aluminum posts come in two pieces that just take seconds to assemble. There is a plastic film you'll need to remove from the solar panel piece. I felt silly and didn't understand why the lights kept going on and off. They will come on when it is dark out so if you are trying these indoors place your hand over the solar panel to fool it into thinking it's night and the lights will come on. You have two options, solid non-stop light or flashing. Both options are cute. We put them outside a few nights ago and so far so good, no issues. They do seem lightweight so I'm not sure how durable they will be long-term, I will update my review to speak to that in a few months. We recently had rain so sticking them in the ground was not too hard. If you're ground is hard I would suggest digging out a little hole, I'm not sure the plastic of the tubing will hold up to pressure against hard soil. Once in place they are adorable. The neighbors have noticed and complimented us on these cute little lights along with some solar lights we got for our walkway. They add a ton of whimsy and put a smile on my face.
