Works just fine, the auto sensing even works through windows and thin curtains so be careful of placement if you don’t want unwanted activation. The lights are quite bright, but my high quality hand held lenser p7r torch with one led is equivalent in brightness circa 1000 lumens, maybe even a little brighter so don’t believe the reported lumens. There were several advertised features of this light that motivated me to order it: * Since our neighborhood has no street lights, I needed a light that would flood my home's entire parking area after dark. This light does that. * The solar feature was attractive because hiring an electrician to install wiring for a motion sensing light would be more expensive than this fixture. * Using solar power to light our parking area will have zero impact on our monthly electric bill. This light is designed to mount on a wall or a pole, however my garage's roof overhang would have shielded the solar panel if I had done a conventional wall mount. Therefore, I purchased some additional items including a 2" galvanized rigid conduit elbow, a 2" galvanized floor flange, a 2" galvanized threaded pipe cap and four 3" long galvanized lag screws. Mounting the elbow over my garage door enabled me to extend this solar street light beyond the roof overhang and use this fixture's pole-mount feature as is shown in my daylight photo. As soon as I connected the wire between the included 41-watt solar panel and the light fixture, a row of LED lights on the fixture showed that the battery was charging toward full capacity. After being exposed to a day's sunlight, this fixture produced a good flood of light extending over my home's entire parking area for an entire night with battery power to spare. After I used the included remote control to activate the motion sensor feature, the light brightens when pedestrians or cars enter our parking area and then dims after about 20 seconds when there is no more motion. That conserves battery power. Having been challenged in the past to follow black and white line drawings to assemble items, I found the color photographic illustrations included with this fixture to be much more helpful. Everything needed for this installation was included in the package, except for the items that I noted previously, Included were all screws, nuts washers, a conventional wrench and several Allen wrenches. I did find, however, that my battery-powered impact wrench sped up the installation. This one gives you the option to attach it to a wall or to a pole and it has an amazing powerful range of light coverage. The main reason for getting this is because it has a motion sensor. Also it comes with a remote with several options. Just make sure you don’t lose the remote, because if you do, you have no way of changing the settings. The solar panel is somewhat limited to 45 90 or 135 degree position. There is a good reason for this limited choice—it is pretty heavy and a sturdy quality and outweighs the number of positions. However after setting the angle, the you can attach the solar panel to the slanted pole that comes with the light. When the solar panel is attached to the pole, you can rotate the solar panel sideways to get the best angle so it works out great! I have installed a 100, 200, 300, 400, and now this 600 watt. While none of them are as bright as ones that are powered by 120volt circuit they do produce a good amount of light and this one is by far the brightest. It also has one of the biggest batteries which allows it to have quite impressive run time even when there are a few cloudy days. I have not found a solar light yet that has a good motion sensor. I wish they could improve this. With the light 20 feet in the air you really don't get much motion detection very far away from it.... maybe 10 to 15 feet. I like the 4+4, 4+6, 4+8 works out great. I get the on time while I'm awake and the security mode while I'm asleep. Read more
