Very neat looking can, fit in well with the rest of the kitchen and looks better than my old rubber made one. It holds odor well, however just know that you will get a nasty odor once you open it if you don't take your trash out often. I really like the slow close lid, and all the parts feel very sturdy. The biggest thing I like about this can, is the fact that it has a removable insert. I don't have to see an ugly trash bag sticking out of the trash can, and it makes changing it out easier. Its very nice, has a can inside that comes out and you put the bag into. Comes with bags and holds 13 gallon trash bags. My dog can not open this lid at all with her nose. I'm reading the other reviews and seeing some mischaracterizations, so I would like to provide a genuine deep review. I see people claiming how this is a super premium trashcan, while others saying it's cheap crap, neither of which is accurate imo. This trash can is pretty competitively priced against the rest of amazon's offerings, think of it as an entry level metal trash can that's not absolute crap. So the pedal is metal, main outer shell is metal, silver band around the lid is metal, and the lid is plastic. The overall quality of materials is okay, I wouldn't say they feel like cheap crap. The metal finish is decent and indeed doesn't collect fingerprints. The assembly quality is pretty good, no misalignment or other issues there. The single biggest criticism regarding the build quality is the thickness of the main metal shell: it's not too flimsy, but it would benefit from extra thickness. This is also likely the main reason why people complain about units arriving dented, I had mine arrive dented as well; but amazon sent me another one and it was fine. The hydraulics soft close mechanism works well, but I don't have long term data on how it will hold up in the future. The lid is not heavy, so it opens well and easily. The inner bucket's size is absolutely perfect, just enough tightness to hold a generic 13 gallon bag while not too much to overstretch it or make the experience annoying. The inner bucket is also symmetrical, so it goes into the can in either direction. The unit overall has enough grip and weight to be perfectly stable, no wobbling or moving during the opening. The hinge is embedded within the perimeter of the trashcan with nothing sticking out the back, which is a plus I guess? Overall, I'm satisfied. The unit arrives fully preassembled. The aesthetics are great, the quality is fine too. For a higher quality of materials and metal thickness, you would need to go for $100+ ones, no way around it. Read more

Had this an only a few months, it is nice and smooth closing, holds a good amount and fits standard kitchen tall garbage bags. A little tricky to make sure the removable can is sitting straight and balanced so the lid will close- but it is easy to notice it isn’t right and quick fix.
