Great sound, easy to set up. Bought on sale. saved over $100. Worth it for the sale price, when it's over $200 you might consider a similar product from other companies. Sound bubble this creates is an engineering marvel. I am a long-time Sony fan, I have never been disappointed in the quality of their products. I view Sony like apple; a little expensive but generally they work well and last a long time. Excellent battery time and easy to charge. Comfortable fit. Good for home use, but not for airplane travel but I have a pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones. Bluetooth range is excellent. I use for music, enjoy these far better than my air buds. I know they are good when my daughter want to "borrow" them (translated, "Can I have them?"). Read more

I have no idea why no one is reviewing these. These things are amazing! At least I think so, the sound quality is on par with any other high end Sony sound product. And these are awesome if you live in a household like mine. I live in a small house, with a 13yr old Grandson who sits at his computer with headphones all the time, and a wife who really isn't into big theater sound when watching movies, and most of the time I want to watch a movie when she doesn't. So, until I got these speakers, I had to resort to using headphones of some sort or another. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I couldn't hear my wife when using my headphones, and nine times out of ten as soon as I started watching a movie, she would want to talk to me. But with these speakers I can have it all!! I can have my big theater sound without bothering anyone else in my house, AND I can have a conversation with my wife at the same time! Another awesome thing about these speakers is that I can wear them at work. My company does not allow us to wear headphones or earbuds while working for safety reasons, but it's perfectly ok for me to listen to a Bluetooth speaker. This Bluetooth speaker sits on my shoulders!! Yes, they are way pricey, but they are built with Sony quality, sound awesome, and for me, worth their weight in gold for so many reasons! Now these things will not be suited for traveling using public transit, you're going to annoy others sitting right next to you because they can hear things that you're listening to, it's just at a lower volume than what you're actually hearing. But that's why you use headphones or earbuds. These are not for travel; these are for big personal theater quality sound without the need of wearing headphones or earbuds. There is what I would consider a very small problem with them. If you move around a lot while wearing them, such as cleaning house, etc. They have a tendency to shift around on your neck, but if you're sitting still watching a movie, they feel very comfortable. I would like to see Sony come out with some sort of clip to hold them together at the front, or maybe a stronger band in the back that will hug your neck a little more. Read more

The new Sony Theater U is literally one of the single best products that Sony has ever brought to market. They are incredibly comfortable and they have wonderful sound quality. And, the best part is that since nothing goes on or in your years you never experience any type of ear fatigue, even if you use them all day long. And, with 12-hours of battery life on a single charge, you pretty much can. I probably own around a dozen sets of headphones but after buying the Theater U, I don't think I'll really ever have much reason to use any of them ever again. The Theater U with its Bluetooth capabilities are easily now my favorite way to listen to music. Without question, one of the coolest audio products I have ever owned. My advice is to get them. Once you try them you will wonder how you ever got along without them. Yeah, they really are THAT good! Read more

Sound should be good at this price. I got mine refurbished, so it wasn't too bad. Is it worth full price, i.e. the Sony tax? I don't think so. I bought a cheapo neck speaker and for TV, it works fine although the quality isn't great. It is acceptable for TV watching. And it was 1/8th the price of the Sony. Read more

OK, this is somewhat of a disclaimer, but I am a Sony fan, particularly their BRAVIA line. So I wanted to really like this - and I absolutely love it. I’m fortunate to have a premium Sony sound system in my house. And I wanted to have a nice speaker for travel, which I do very frequently for work. I of course use both headsets and earbuds for connecting to my iPad, but there are times when I don’t want to be as removed from what’s going on around me, like in a hotel room. I have used a really nice speaker in hotels, but in order to get a really nice sound quality I have to turn it up pretty loud - and I seriously don’t want to bother people in neighboring rooms. And, when laying on the bed, for example, that speaker doesn’t work really well - where do you put it? Many times there are knocks on the door or the phone rings and headphones are too removed. This is a fantastic compromise. It allows you to be fully immersed in the sound, while not removing you from what’s happening. The sound quality, as I put in the title of this review, is truly remarkable. I have no idea how they did it, of course, but the sound is almost very nearly what headsets allow. I’m very impressed. The battery lasts a very long time - I do recharge it after use, so I’m not sure how long it lasts, but I do know it’s several hours. NOTE: As described in Sony’s information, this IS NOT for use everywhere. It is NOT for use on a plane, it is NOT for use in the gym. Or anywhere that others would hear. (I have not tried it paired with another BRAVIA U.). But it gives the wearer fully immersive sound and does not remove you from surroundings. If this compromise between a speaker and headsets fits your needs, you cannot go wrong with this speaker. I more than highly recommend. Read more
