First, the fit. I'm a 9, and I took a 9 in these. I have the Elk color, so maybe it's other materials or colors that fit differently. I ordered the 9 and the 9.5 due to reviews (thinking maybe I would even be up a creek because I should have gotten the 10) but the 9.5 was comically large, like clown shoes. I can wear my regular no-show socks, or my warm wool socks, or my hiking socks and they fit great with all of my options. I say these are true to size. I needed them right away, so I wasn't too thrilled that my pair seemed to be a return no one had looked at, but that's on the seller, not Sorel or the boots themselves. I had to wear them all day, and I was nervous because they *do* feel a bit thin, but these are not sneakers and if you're buying them because they are cute (they are kinda cute) but not paying attention to their function, you may be disappointed. "Duck boots" are duck hunting shoes, originally! They're meant to protect your feet, and keep them dry. They're for mud and muck and rain. Yes, you can feel the ground through these! That's a feature, not a bug. I wore them all weekend, through muddy fields, up and down hills, over plenty of rocks and branches, and they were fine. I could feel things, but nothing hurt, and most importantly, my feet were warm and dry and I did not wipe out walking on wet leaves! If you want them just because they look cute on Instagram (no shade) but you're just going to be wearing them to a mall or whatever, you may want to pick another style. If you want them for function but *also* to look cute, these are fantastic. WAY more comfortable than the Sperry version, not even a contest. Read more
Second year with these boots...still wonderful 12/22/20...I live in Connecticut and lots of Saturday's ate rainy, cold, slushy and snowy and errands must be done. I LOVE these boots; they fit and feel great. Not heavy but sturdy and warm. Splash through puddles or snow mounds, feet are cozy and warm and dry. And they look great too. Read more
These boots are a super cute addition to your winter outfits. Cute enough to wear to work on a winter weather day and practical enough to keep you comfortable outdoors on the same day. They are great for <4 inches of snow or walking in winter rain. They are not waterproof all the way to the top, but they will keep your feet dry and warm in average conditions like walking across a slushy parking lot or shoveling a few inches of snow. Just don't step in deep puddles and you'll be fine. The tread is great on these too, you won't have to worry about falling on a bit of icy sidewalk. There's also plenty of room for an insole if you need additional arch support. I added a 3/4 length insole to mine and they still fit fine. The heel isn't slipping off my foot and there's plenty of room in the toe. Read more
I have multiple pairs of Sorel boots in a variety of different styles. This one fits as expected. It does run a little wider than some of the other pairs I have (compared to the more fashion style pairs) but the length is the same. I actually like that they have some extra room because they are easy to slip on, and can accommodate warm thick socks! They are 100% NOT knock-offs - every pair of boots with a rubber logo on the heel has the letters eventually wear off. That is completely normal! Also, the "leaking" some people find on their packaging is also normal for the materials. Other pairs of Sorel boots that I have purchased for Nordstrom and other retailers have done the same thing in the packaging. For reference, I am a true 7.5, normal width, in US Womens sizing. For Sorel, I always purchase an 8, even when half sizes are available. If you are looking for a boot with a warm lining, this is not the one. It will be water-resistant enough for rain obviously, and snow as well, but it will not neccessarily keep your feet warm. If you are concerned about that, you may want a real snow boot from Sorel, or you could always layer up on warm socks. Read more
Love the style, that and the Sorel Brand are the main draw on this boot. It’s well made but there is no arch support so I added my own. I’m a true 7.5 and ordered 8 size up based on one their reviews. Definitely the right choice. I ordered the black leather upper and it is stiff. Needs slight braking in in ankle area, planning my sox accordingly. Over all I love the style and low profile of this boot. It could be improved on with more cushioning and arch support. Haven’t tested them in rain yet but I don’t anticipate any issues. Read more
I originally ordered a size 10 and they were way too tight in the toe box. I hate returning things so I tried to deal with it, but there was no way. I was thrilled to see they had a size 10.5 (most places don’t) so I ordered a 10.5 and they are perfect! They are a little wider than I like, but with thicker socks they will be perfect. I love these so much I feel like they’re the kind of boot I would keep forever. And plus for us girls with bigger feet.. these do not make your feet look big at all! So stylish and so comfy. A must buy in my opinion! Read more
These are soft and comfortable from the first wear. Keep my feet warm and dry on my daily PNW bus commute. Not much arch support and the seams along the tongue are a little sloppy, but still seem well made. I’m glad I purchased these. I’m normally a size 8.5 and ignored the measurement guide because it appeared inaccurate by a lot, which told me to buy a 7.5. I went with common sense and bought an 8.5 and glad I did - fits perfectly even with warm socks. My feet are on the wide side, for reference (but I never have to wear wide shoes). Read more
Never tried this brand before. I've had ugg knock offs for like 3 years and i thought its time to spend a little on a nice pair of snow boots and these are very cute! I like them! I am a true size 7 in women's and they fit great. I little stiff but I think thats because they are new. For 120 bucks they seem well made and are comfortable. Haven't had any snow yet but I will update how they hold up if I remember! Read more
