I love the sun and going to the beach is my favorite activity. I tan well but in order to be able to spend the day at the beach I need to protect my skin at some point. I never thought I would buy something like this shirt because I believed that wearing long sleeves in the sun was uncomfortable. I was absolutely wrong. This shirt is very comfortable and actually keeps me cool for long hours in the sun. I'm a big/tall guy so I sometimes need long shirts to fit comfortably but the length on this shirt is perfect. My husband loves this sunshirt. He wears it when he goes fishing at least once per week. He finds the shirt to be comfortable, lightweight, appreciates the hood for those times when the sun is on his neck, and he has never come home with a sunburn after wearing it, even though he is out in the sun for 4-8 hours at a time. I bought this for a week on the water in the Finger Lakes of New York in July. We had 80-90F temps and high high high humidity. This shirt kept the sun from burning me to a crisp so that I didn't have to slather cancer.. .er I mean sunscreen all over me to stay safe. I got to play, boat, snorkel, work, ski, tube all week without sunburns or stinging eyes and pasty white cream everywhere! It was wonderful. The shirt fits me 5'10", 195lbs, fit...ish build in a size Large. Was not a tent, and didn't constrict. The hood fit without pulling the shirt up off my shoulders like it seems to do on all my kids hoodies. The fabric is light and wicking in the sun. It definitely cools you off quick when it's wet in any kind of breeze and keeps the sun from burning you wet or dry. I relied on this heavily when snorkeling in direct sunlight. Since going to New York, this has worked to keep the sun off me in the high desert sun of the western US. It's also super comfy for around the house. Read more
