Customers say

Customers find the phone case to be of good quality and appreciate that it holds three cards snugly and fits well in pockets. The case provides good protection for the phone and functions well, with one customer noting the raised edge on the front protects the screen. While some it's not bulky, others find it too thick. The durability receives mixed feedback, with some reporting it lasts a long time while others ment

the 2nd was for 5S & both were the SmartFlex version and I wanted something with some more color/style/girly lol) and I love it.

NinjaAJβ€”August 8, 2014

- This is my 3rd Speck Card Case, (the first was for iphone 4, the 2nd was for 5S & both were the SmartFlex version and I wanted something with some more color/style/girly lol) and I love it....In general, these cases are awesome if you don't want to carry your bag and wallet especially when traveling and on vacation or simply running to the supermarket and doing errands. I actually forget where I put things like keys or even my wallet sometimes but never my phone b/c it's always on me so I know exactly where my credit card/money/dl is. - For the color I decided on the Purple/Blue over the White/Caribbean blue b/c I figured the white would get dirty pretty quick. It's definitely slimmer than the SmartFlex it fits/hugs the iphone a little better too (I thought the SmartFlex stretched after awhile). The color is pretty close to what was shown in the picture (mine is a little more of a bright purple, the blue looks the same) The only thing that I was slightly concerned with was the grip of the case and that it probably would slide a little easier b/c it is a CandyShell but I was used to bigger cases before and I just got used to this one. - Protection-wise it does what it says. I recently dropped my phone like 3 times on the ground within one week and each time almost in slow mow, I saw it drop on the corner and bounce onto it's back. Thankfully it didn't drop face first but if it had, the case does have a lip that keeps the screen slightly protected (nothing like an OtterBox but enough, unless your phone happens to land on a rock then you are probably SOL lol) - The one thing I have noticed from dropping the phone recently is that the case got scuffed at the corner that took the brunt of the fall and there are some scratches I see when the light hits the back of the case, but that's to be expected from the finish of the CandyShell vs the SmartFlex. Overall, I love this case. It holds what I need when I need it and I don't have to worry about the cards or money falling out either. Even when I have my purse and my wallet with me I have the cards I use most in the case so I don't have to go digging for them in my unorganized big pocketbook. I hope they come out with more colors b/c I'll probably stick with the CandyShell version. Read more

In this CASE, higher price equates DOES equate to better product!

CJnOCβ€”August 18, 2015

I previously had a Speck case for my iPhone4 with the credit card holder. The one thing I wasn't nuts about however was the price. So when I upgraded to the iPhone5S I decided to try another case. I tried both the Goospery iPocket, and the PhoneFoam Golf case they both fell short. So back to the higher priced Speck... Well it's a get what you pay for type of deal! It's easy to push out the card when needed, but they don't fall out. It holds 2-3 cards just fine instead of just 1 like the iPocket. It doesn't produce a blurry image when the flash is used. It isn't super slick so it doesn't fall out of your hand accidently or out of your pocket when you have your legs crossed or squating down while doing something. Also the soft inner case & the hard outer case are fused together so you phone doesn't look like junk with all the little fuzzies in between the cracks. Read more

Works well for Commuters!

KBoston87β€”May 4, 2014

I purchased this phone case because my company recently moved to Boston and I've now joined the ranks of folks who commute to work via public transit. After spending a few days digging through my purse for my train pass, I decided to purchase this sporty case so that I will always know where to find my card. Here are my PROs: * Don't have to take cards out to scan them - Card readers can read my "T" pass through the case and it also holds my building id card and my wholesale club membership card, which can still be read through my other cards and the plastic of the case. I've never tried it for more than three at a time though. * Bright red color makes it easy to find - I am constantly putting my phone places and forgetting it. The bright red color of this case makes it easy to spot when I leave it on top of the washing machine or on the kitchen counter. * Large hole for charger - I also really like that the hole where the charger goes is large enough to accommodate knock-off lightning chargers (which can sometimes be shorter or irregularly shaped. * Great protection - I've dropped my phone from about 3 feet onto a tile floor without it cracking. I can't speak for different surfaces or heights, but it seems like it offers good protection. CONs: * Case is not "grippy" - The old charger I had was the $30 one that you can buy from Apple when you purchase your phone. The material that it was less likely to slide around on the dashboard or into couch cushions. This doesn't bother me enough to knock off a star, I just wanted to address it. * Sometimes messes with the volume buttons - I don't know if this is just me, but I sometimes unknowingly press the volume button and the rubberized covers stay down automatically. This was never an issue for me with the old Apple case, but is probably more attributable to my own use than the product itself. Read more

Okay protection, but bulky and not durable

David N.β€”July 20, 2016

In July 2016 I had to buy a new case to replace this Speck CandyShell Card Case, because the plastic on the card case part had been cracking and breaking off for the last couple of months or so. Once a few larger pieces broke off, I couldn't use it anymore, since the edges were jagged, and would snag on my pants or shirt pocket. I was surprised to learn I had only bought this case in February 2014. It did not seem very durable, as the inner rubber started breaking off after about a year of use. I had stopped using the card case holder for money or credit cards after the first few months, since it was too difficult to actually get the items out of the case. I never had a significant drop, but did drop a couple of times on the carpet, and the protection seemed good. Anyway, my new case is not a Speck product, as this one did not last for very long (especially given the price of $37.69 I paid in 2014). Read more
