Each of the 3 steps does something different. Step 1 - I use these on those pimples that feel like a bruise. I can never see but, can feel them forming. I call them “VERY RARE PIMPLES” because I get maybe three a year. Step 2 - These patches are for the every day “not too serious” pimples. Put on a patch and can wear makeup over it. Step 3 - Now and then, I will get an everyday pimple that turns into a “VERY RARE PIMPLE” or stubborn pimple. They take forever to go away. However, with these patches, they’re cleared up in just a couple of days instead of a week. Even though they say STEP 1,2,3 on each packet, I feel m they’re more for what type of pimple and not a STEP in a process. When applying a patch, make sure it goes on clean, dry skin. These patches are excellent. I highly suggest using them as directed. They work on whiteheads and early-stage pimples for sure. I don’t have any advanced-stage pimples, but it worked for my mildly inflamed acne. The first patches have micro darts that puncture the skin and penetrate ingredients in the skin. You could feel a little prickly, but not hurt. Those micro darts dissolve overtime. The second patches are the Hydrocolloid patches that suck up the gunk from the pimples. They really do! You can see it on the patches when you peel the patches off from your face. What I like most about these patches is that the edges are thinner. You can’t see that you are wearing them. I sometimes forget I’m wearing them. The third patches have micro darts too that work as red spot erasers. The redness of my pimples has subsided. I’m so impressed with these patches. The places where I had pimples were gone in no time. My only complaint is they need to add more of the first and the third patches. I believe these three stages of patches work harmoniously, so any pimples you have need three stages of patches to cure fast. I've never seen brightening patches (step 3) before, nor have I seen a set of patches that address a pimple in its various stages. It's a great idea to have these all bundled together. The micropoints don't hurt at all. I can feel them when I press the patch into my skin, but it doesn't hurt or irritate my skin at all. I do wish the step 2 (hydrocolloid) patches had salicylic acid and/or other healing ingredients in them. The step 1 patches have salicylic acid, but there aren't as many of those, and I like for my regular acne patches to not only absorb and protect but also work on healing my skin. Overall I really like this set, and it would be perfect with that one change. Please note that the set does not include the same number of each type of patch. i don't know, i feel like it didn't really do much. when i first moved to oregon, i was breaking out so much around my chin, so i ordered these, but i feel like it really didn't do much to speed up the healing or fade it faster than if i just wash is with salicylic facial cleanser and patting alcohol on the spot. i wasn't wowed. and it was too much to do find which one for which stage. If you've ever had a pimple you know that they can be discovered at different stages. I really enjoy how this pimple patch covers the different stages nicely. You will not get an equal number of all patches between the stages. I would say that I noticed that the patches do work, but I felt like the process to get rid of the pimples around stage two could of been better with more of the addition of the serum that pulls our the pimple fluid. Each of the stages are clearly labeled so you shouldn't have an issue figuring out which step is which. Read more
