I've purchased two of these toys for my two large malamute-mixes. The first one I purchased in October. With rigorous play it lasted until December. Then I bought another one as a Christmas present for the pups just recently. Both of my dogs have different tastes in toys. Rascal, my big boy, likes anything that squeaks and can be torn apart. Coho, the complete opposite- a very picky girly girl, prefers to hunt things. She only likes toys with fur that she can chase. With that being said they both absolutely love playing tug-o-war with each other. It's the one game they both enjoy. This toy covers all aspects of both dogs. Rascal can squeak the squeaker in the head and tail. He can also tear the toy apart. Coho can chase the toy around and 'hunt' the fury creature. And they can both play tug-o-war with it against each other. What's really unique about this toy is that there is no stuffing. It's made of faux fur (I'd rather see a real fur one, as real fur is digestible for dogs but faux fur is not- and bits of this toy have been accidently swallowed). Once torn apart- which took both of my dogs working together about a week to accomplish, there are two squeaky toys sewn inside. For larger dogs these are small enough to swallow so you will need to supervise your dog when playing with this toy. Once the squeakers are removed you will have to discard of them. The soft fur-like material really keeps my dogs engaged. They are constantly fighting over it. Running and stealing it from each other. They are very big, very strong dogs who can play tug-o-war like a pro. So the fact that this toy held up with both of these dogs for two months is a feat to be accomplished. It did begin to rip in half after a month of play- but then the two separate pieces became toys of their own and they continue to rip and tear the toy apart until it was left in about 4 inch pieces all over the house. 90% of the time they didn't swallow the pieces. But on occasion Rascal did not want to give up his piece to Coho- so instead of setting it down he just swallowed it. Luckily he has a man's digestive system and popped it out. But like I said before, real fur would be a better option in my mind. Most of the toys I buy my dogs are made with digestible fur or leather. Faux fur is plastic- so it can't be digested. Just a thought in case your dog tends to eat his toys as well. When this toy begins to tear I suggest taking small pieces away as they are ripped off. This toy really isn't a fetch toy. It's mainly for chewing and tug-o-war. The sewn-quality is amazing. It really did hold up fantastically. I was amazed at how long this toy lasted. Most of my dog toys are thrown out in a week or two. This lasted two months with both of my pups actively playing with it. For it's durability and universal-play opportunities I would hands down say this is a 5 star toy and would recommend it to people with large-breed dogs. Read more

So we have this new (kind of a) puppy we rescued from a local shelter a few months ago. The poor pup had been stuck with a young gal who wasn't supposed to have a dog...so she kept this Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound in her closet. Never took her outside, did not potty train her, and no socialization took place. Ever since she came home with us, I've been trying to teach her to play. (We have 2 other small dogs, but rather than play with them she just tries to "mount" them. Ummm, yeah.) I got her a couple of little toys to help with the process. The first ones had crinkly material in them, which scared her. I wanted to find something that also didn't overwhelm her in size. This was perfect! Extremely soft, so she likes to lay her chin on it. Very slim, so when you wiggle it on the ground in front of her, she doesn't flip out and run away. (Well, most of the time she doesn't.) She's learning the squeakers aren't the dastardly demons she originally believed them to be - although she's a bigger fan of them if you squeak them when she's in the other room as a signal it's playtime...she's still not real sure about them squeaking right next to her. It's a riot to lay this on her back - or stick the leg in her collar - and watch her try to get it. It's definitely tough enough for her to bite on one end, while you pull it and she hangs on. Much better target for her biting interests than my hand! It's actually long enough that, holding the middle, the two smallest dogs can each grab an end and go for a ride. Bottom Line: She isn't very tough on her toys...YET. This fox is so soft and floppy?...rag doll-like?...relaxed?...that she isn't afraid of it. The size is great (even for small dogs) and the fox is lightweight enough for her to carry it around on her own. It's very well made and I'm pretty positive it will be with her for the rest of her life. It's a great choice, even for really energetic dogs who love to chew and play rough with their toys! I'd say the toy is good and the dog likes it. I'd say it is more like a $6 and under dog toy though, not over $7. It's very thin, hence the name. I think I was a still a bit surprised it has two squeakers. One at the head and the other the tail. Our 4 month old puppy is enjoying it so far. I'll supervise her play with this toy as it would get destroyed if she were left alone with it. It's light weight so she really enjoys throwing it around while she wriggles in her back. Read more

Like my previous Papillon, my new Papillon puppy loves this to. It has a squeaker on both ends so that makes it fun for both of us when playing with it, unless the squeaking annoys you. I think the squeaker is fun and it keeps my little one entertained. So far it's been pretty durable. It has supported at least six pounds of pull without any noticeable damage. It's not really a chew toy, but after hours and hours of play the squeakers are still in tact. The brown and white color is great and it's a cute little fox. I would say it's a great buy for the money. Functionality? I think I just described that pretty well, so it gets an A+ there. My dog loves it, I love it, so what more is there to say? Great toy for small dogs. Don't know about how this would work with big dogs cause I only have a little Papillon. Read more

i mean. it's great unless your dog plays the way all dogs play. but on the off chance your dog is....you know...... a dog this may last a week or two. mine lasted 8 days. edit: downgrading this to 1 star bc after my dog tore it in half, she pulled it to pieces, got the squeaker out and pulled that apart too which is a choking hazard. get something more durable. this one is cheap at best and dangerous at worst. had to throw all of it out within a week of it being delivered Read more
