These knives are amazing! Recommended by one of my favorite real food mommas - Raising Generation Nourished - for helping little to help in the kitchen and learn safe knife skills before they’re ready for a real sharp knife. My little one has been helping in the kitchen since she could sit up and always wants to be helping. I bought her the Melissa and Doug vegetable cutting set and that used to suffice for her for a while so she could cut her food while mommy cut hers next to her. But pretty quickly and she decided she wanted to be cutting the same stuff as me and her knife didn’t work for that. She’s always asking to get a knife to help. I had been wishing there was an option for her that I felt comfortable letting her use while knowing I could be temporarily distracted at any minute by the cooking. This was the answer! The knifes came and I was so impressed by their quality and design. My husband wasn’t quite a believer in their safety - so before he would let her use them he tried them quite aggressively to see if they truly couldn’t cut her skin. They passed the test and he was shocked. So they now additionally have daddy’s stamp of safety approval. Now our 4 year old is helping me happily with meal prep and using her big girl knives! A friend recommended these to me and I cannot thank her enough, now I want to buy them for my friends with kids. I was surprised by the quality and functionality of these knives; they are more sturdy than I expected (in a good way!). My kids (7 and 3) instantly loved them and started off chopping everything in site. No cuts or any abrasions on their delicate skin giving them a positive 'cooking' experience. We just received them so have only prepared a few things so far: oranges, apples and strawberries. I was very happy to see that the knives didn't smoosh the strawberries but really cut them, so that the kids could cut tiny pieces of strawberry without the fruit falling apart. This is one of those purchases that is a no brainer. The price is right and the quality is great. THANK YOU for making such a wonderful, fun and helpfull product. Read more

These knives are exactly what I was hoping they'd be. My eight-year-old daughter is very much into cooking and doing everything she can to help in the kitchen. I'm a protective dad leery of letting her do too much...knife work being high on the list of things I was reluctant to allow! I found these, and they were well-reviewed, so I gave them a shot as part of a birthday gift. They were likely her favorite gift. She can use them easily (quality, comfortable grip--I actually like the feel better than some of my regular knives). They cut much better than I expected, honestly, given the fact that they do seem to live up to the promise that they won't cut skin (I didn't saw at my own hand or anything, but I certainly did what I could to test them a bit). So far, they've worked well on fruits and vegetables and other miscellaneous items (my daughter even uses them for brownies when she makes them). Very happy with this purchase. Read more

Got it for my 7 year old nephew so he can help me cook. He loves that he’s able to cut up fruits and veggies now. We haven’t tried cutting meats with it yet. The knife is functional for soft fruits and veggies. He tried cutting celery with it but it was too hard. Consider these knifes as dull as a butter knife with deeper penetration. Yes I used the word penetration. This is a good set for beginning young chefs and a good introduction into kitchen safety. Read more

Actual rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10 out of 5⭐) Much better product than I expected/hoped for. Definitely worth the price. Santa claus brought my 8 yr old grsnddaughter this 3 pack of magical knives for kids. She is beyond thrilled with them. The smallest of the 3 is the only one She's used this far (& the only one she's needed to) at 8 she was a little afraid of it at first so knowing that it says that they work on fruits, veggies cheese & bread I showed her both on my inner arm & hers that they were safe. (I of course did it on mine first w/o her seeing to be sure. Not my finest moment I must admit but luckily they're as safe they claim.) Anyway her first use of it was to try to cut through an apple, it cut through with minimum effort which surprised me & after cutting it in half she cut herself some slim slices. Thinner than I usually get them with my big girl knives. Later she was eating a corn dog & even though I was sure it wouldn't cut through the skin & meat of the hotdog i let her try. After all the reason for her to have these is for her to learn how to cook & experiment so why not right? I mean it's not supposed to & when I showed her how safe the knife was it not only didn't break skin it didn't scratch it. But it cut through it very smoothly. Remember this was the smallest of the 3. So moving on to last night...We had nice thick steak for dinner & my husband had been curious if these magical elf made knives could actually work as a knife for her to cut her own meat. He figured if it cuts through hotdog skin & meat, why not chicken or ham. Well back to the steak I decided that I'd try it on the steak & shockingly it cut the medium rare steak as easily as a steak knife through butter. Yay for us as she now can cut her own meat since i showed her how & she was able to easily cut small bites. She has been so proud of herself every step of the way. She also is even more certain Santa & his elves are real since we'd told her the only way she'd get "cooking stuff in her size" was if he brought them & now she's decided that the only way these magical knives can cut through things like steak is if the magical little Christmas gift makers infused them with added magic, after all, I'd told her I knew these to be safe because the ones I'd seen couldn't cut through skin & flesh & but somehow these dont cut skin but cut meat. I can't wait to try more products from this company. These are easy to clean, easy to use & safe for a hyper excited 8 year old. If possible I'd give more than 5 ⭐ I'd add more for the added magic of helping build confidence in my granddaughter which is worth the most in my eyes. I hope they come out with a line of "steak knives" that look & feel like a real one so she can learn how to hold one of those but for now these knives seem like they will work for anything she will be needing it for Read more
