This is a simple and basic USB hub that allows you to plug into a USB-A port and expand connectivity to allow 4 additional USB-A connections on your laptop, PC, or other compatible device. I've used other StarTech brand hubs before and have been pleased with the quality and functionality of them, and this one performs just as nicely. This hub is compact in size and great for portability with a laptop. One small feature I love about the design is how the USB-A cable has a tab that allows is to plug into one of the available ports when storing and transporting, especially since the cable is short and really can't be wrapped up in any way. There is no external power to this hub, meaning it's drawing power directly from the computer's USB port, so keep that in mind as all uses may not be supported if additional power is needed. But for the price point of this item, that is to be expected. Overall, if you're in need of additional USB-A ports for your connected device and appreciate portability, this is an excellent item to consider. The only feature I wish they had included was at least one USB-C port as they are becoming more commonplace as each day passes. Read more

For any future buyers, keep in mind that when you get any usb hub that the bandwidth coming out of one port will be shared among all connected devices. It'd be nice if the cord length was longer to accomodate desktops instead of just laptops. This hub has held up after 2 months of continuous use and has been really reliable. Read more
