Cleaning Results: 5 stars, Operation: 3 stars
This little machine has convinced me that steam cleaning is the way to go, but I would only recommend it for small jobs. It did a good job of cleaning a dining room chair cushion, kitchen cupboard doors, stainless steel appliance fronts and shower door rails. The cleaning results are amazing, but for the operation of this machine, I would give it 3 stars. First off, you need to hold the machine level at all times, so you will need to use the short stiff extension hose for most jobs and it's hard to maneuver. After it heats up and you start using it, you must watch for the green light to turn off and take your finger off the trigger until it relights, this happens every few seconds. There is no on/off switch, just plugging and unplugging it. It does not automatically turn off when it runs dry, you must pull the plug when no more steam is coming out. So, it quickly becomes an exercise in coordination: hold it level with the right hand on the handle and trigger so you can see the green light and operate the trigger accordingly, while using the left hand to direct the nozzle or tool on the end of the extension hose and get ready to pull the plug when the steam runs out. Like I said, small jobs only. If you are interested in trying out steam cleaning before investing in a more expensive or larger capacity system, this would make an acceptable inexpensive machine for a trial run. Read more
