Ahhhh - this is so cool! My kiddo has been begging for a new "cool" umbrella. We had a spring break trip quickly arriving and rain was in the forecast so I ordered this last minute as a surprise - shipping was super fast and well packaged. The size of umbrella is perfect for a 7-year-old. She loved it upon opening but when we took it out in the rain and the colors popped - she was in awe! The colors are vibrant and beautiful. My grandchild is 4 years old. After watching a cartoon about a child with an umbrella, he became obsessed with the idea of having one too! I searched "best umbrella for a 4 year old", "and the Stephen Joseph collection came up. I have to agree! He was so excited when it arrived. The design is beautiful and he loved it even before he took it out to the sprinkler, it was a sunny day. The umbrella is easy to open and close, and has no pointy spokes like adult umbrellas. We got this for our 5-year-old’s birthday. He LOVES the pattern and the color changing with moisture is AWESOME. His 2 and 7 year old brothers are super jealous, so we considered getting one for each of them. My other favorite aspect is that it doesn’t latch open or closed, so it’s perfectly functional for as young as the two year old. The only problem is that with 2 and 5 year olds opening and closing it on their own so regularly (because they CAN, and so, of course they INSIST on always doing it on their own... 😂😂🤷‍♀️).. the spokes at the top got pushed a little too hard or something, so now they are bowed. Which means it no longer opens completely or closes completely, which is lame. Being a product for toddlers and young children and having lasted only one month before getting damaged, I wish it was a little sturdier. Hence we did NOT end up buying multiples for the brothers..
