This is my 2nd Butterfly opening razor from Parker. My first lasted 3 years, I dropped it and damaged the the twist open mechanism. And true to its namesake animal, once you touch butterfly wings.. I switched to a 3 piece but found it not as aggressive as my Parker and promptly switched back. I got this model and it's great. It's heavier than my old Parker and that slight heft made a world of difference. The opening mechanism is smooth and the weight gives it a great balance. Granted I dropped my original once and that fall proved the fragility of it but I can live with that. Parker razors are very fine quality and a bit aggressive depending on the blade. I use Astra. For by beard type they are perfect. You can't go wrong with a Parker. While I do own other brands in different styles, Parker remain my favorite. Read more

I'll keep this short: The construction is excellent. The weight and grip make it really easy to manage there is no need to apply more pressure than what the weight of the razor contributes. It's fairly aggressive with a decent amount of blade exposure versus my Merkur 34C. The Shark blade was sharp and fairly smooth, but I'd like to try something smoother in it like a Voshkod. I wouldn't go Feather, at least not yet until my skill gets better. Great product though! Read more

Great product, I nicked myself a couple of times but that is more on user error than anything else. This particular razor though is quite aggressive. I loved the black and chrome look and feel. The handle has a nice texture on it that means it wont slip easily and the whole thing has a nice weight to it as well. Read more

Been using a double-edge safety razor, starting with my Dad's, when I was 12 and now I'm 71. My last razor, a mid-priced Gilette, lasted 40 years. I thought it was a good razor. Based on my first shave with this, I now know it was nothing more than barely adequate. My first pass was troubling as I didn't feel anything, making me suspect it wasn't working, however the stubble was gone! I have relatively thick coarse hair and used to making a minimum of 2 passes to remove it. I'm completely blown away. I suspect that a novice user could cut themselves by accidentally moving (jerking) the razor sideways or pressing too hard, until they learned to let the weight of the razor do the work, which it does exceptionally well. Best shave in years. Right, even I'm surprised. Took the 76R right out of the box, opened and centered blade, lathered a three day beard with little more than good soap and hot water, took a breath, then another, and with a vow to go slowly, did just that. No worries and not even a nick. While my hands might have wanted a longer handle, the razor's overall weight made-up for any lacking, and the head's bevel, at least on this day, with this blade, was spot on right for creating the correct angle between blade and beard. My only advice is that which I gave myself: go slowly. If you want a quick shave, on a less aware day, get yourself an electric razor and buzz on. But, if you're looking to say goodbye to the unnecessary, the stream of disposable cartridges and flimsy handles, then slow down and give this razor a try. Read more

Nice heft to the razor, the included blades are very good too, smooth shave compared to the gillette 7 o'clock blades I have, might order the parker blades from now on. Read more

Razor has a nice feel. handles well. but when you close it on the razor blade the top doesn't line up. one side is higher than the other. it shaves ok but doesn't seem right getting it out of the box and its crooked. Jeff Read more

Design, function, weight and feel of this razor are all great. I am relatively new to wet shaving and I'm able to shave my head baby butt smooth in 1 or 2 passes using this. I find the craftsmanship and/or quality control to be questionable though. The silo doors do not shut evenly and there are small bits of paint on the handle missing paint fresh from the box. This would definately be a 5 star rating without the cosmetic flaws. Aside from that, this razor great. Read more
