I use many of these filing boxes in my office, and they are just the right size, and they seem sturdy with regular use. . However, apparently they are not sturdy enough for the travel from where they come from to my office .Frequently they arrive with cracked or broken off corners. The last time I ordered two sets of 4 filing boxes. One set arrived in perfect shape in a box labeled Sterilite. The other set arrived a day or two later in a plain box which was about an inch smaller, and three of those four filing boxes have cracked or chipped corners. There is usually one cracked or chipped corner in one out of every 6-8 filing boxes. I don't have time to return these large items. I will continue to use these filing boxes because they are excellent IF they arrive unbroken, and even discarding the broken ones, they are a bettrer buy than the more expensive filing boxes. I have ordered this item in the past but used to be disappointed at how often some of the lids were shattered or broken. It happened because there was not something to buffer the shock upon the lids which were right up against the cardboard carton top ( or bottom ). Putting the whole carton inside of another carton with an extra inch or so of space seems to have solved the problem - which was great because it appears you can't replace the broken lids. The packaging was not that great, box arrived all beat up and one of the lids was busted, tried to glue it together but it won't work well, so I'm short a black lid :-( otherwise everything else was fine and usable for my office files. Read more

I bought these to organize tax records. These kind of took me aback when I saw how big they really were. But that is okay. They are sturdy and will hold a lot of files. Standard hanging files fit nicely and the top edge will hold then in place and not leave me with papers falling all over the place because the top edge didn't keep them secure. The price is reasonable. I think I can get at least three years worth of tax records in one box. These would also be handy for storing any kind of documents that you want to hold onto for years. Because they are clear and have a marker label on the end it is easy to ensure that whatever you put into them is identifiable. This was a good buy. Amazon shopping for storage bins is certainly easier than wandering from store to store looking for the right size, shape and composition. I really do like Sterile products. They are inexpensive, but hold up pretty well over time. Read more

I got rid of all my cardboard storage boxes. I can see what is in these plastic file boxes before I taken them off of the shelves. They are all the same which helps my OCD. Haha. Read more

Only 3 of the boxes are okay, the 4th one had cracked corners. It was not delivered directly by Amazon and I have tried twice to report the issue, but there has been no reply. There is no padding in the corrugated box and it was probably dropped along the way. Otherwise, the boxes are fine for hanging files or as a storage tote. Read more
