This Steve Madden long lapel trench coat is absolutely gorgeous and has a very polished, high-end look. The fit is flattering and structured without feeling stiff, making it easy to wear over both casual and dressy outfits. Not too warm but protects from wind and weather. Seems decently waterproof. The only downside is that the waist tie is extremely long. I wish it were at least a foot shorter because it would make styling much easier. I got this to replace a Banana Republic jacket that I loved for years. I won't lie, I had high hopes but lower expectations, but this definitely surprised me! The material is almost the same as my prior jacket, and the fit and comfort are as well! I am 5'5", 180 lbs, size 8 in pants, and the medium fits perfectly. The details of the buttons, sleeves, and belt are beautiful (see attached pictures), even better than those of my prior jacket. The color is a great neutral as well. The fit still gives a feminine form, while being comfortable for long wear. It has quality construction, especially for the price, with clean stitching, buttons well-sewn, and the lining is also well placed. I imagine that as I wear it more and more, it will get even better. It was a little wrinkled when I received it, but it steamed quickly and easily. One of the best items I have gotten this year, and I am excited to wear it on an upcoming trip to cooler weather.
