I ordered this jacket for spring because I'm curious about the fashion. I've seen several of these jackets recently and wanted to see if I like it on me. Spoiler alert: I do! Steve Madden is a name I have trusted in fashion for years, so I thought I would give his version of this jacket ago. I like it a lot. I ordered my typical size small and the color they call Denim Blue. The jacket fits true to size and is deliberately oversized. It fits correctly across the shoulders and in the arms so it's the style that makes it oversized as opposed to a problem with the sizing. The denim blue is pretty and will go with a lot of clothes that I own. There's plenty of room inside this jacket for layering, but I think it will also look great or even better with fitted t-shirts, etc - so that the jacket itself is part of an outfit and not used for keeping me warm. The fabric of this jacket is very much like an all weather trench coat. It feels expensive. It's fully lined and definitely high quality! I'm definitely interested in buying this jacket in other colors so I must like it a lot! It's very well made and durable enough to last for as long as I'll need it! Steve Madden is a great brand and for the quality of this jacket, I'd have to say that the purchase price is well justified. This Steve Madden Cropped Lapel Trench Coat looks even better in person. The quality immediately stood out to me. The outer material is fairly thick and substantial, and the interior is lined with a smooth, silky-feeling fabric that makes it comfortable to wear. It includes tailored side pockets that are somewhat small but still roomy enough to comfortably rest your hands. I also appreciated that it comes with three spare buttons to match the different sizes and colors used on the coat. The fit is true to size. When buttoned, the coat looks nicely tailored. Because it is cropped, there is still plenty of room through the body, so it doesn’t feel restrictive. When worn open, it gives more of an intentionally relaxed, slightly oversized look, which creates two different styling options depending on how you wear it. It is also very comfortable. The fabric weight is on the thicker side, so it seems ideal for spring or fall weather, but it would likely be too warm for summer. Overall, this jacket looks very chic and polished when worn. The only downside to this jacket was that it came wrinkled in the package. Once pressed ... WOW. It made a huge difference. It's a very nice lightweight jacket more for making a statement than for keeping warm. It's clearly inspired by classic trench coat designs but its not a trench coat. It pairs well with knit tops and casual slacks. Both the shell and the lining are "Columbo Beige" and 100% polyester. The coat is machine washable. Its a great addition to your casual wear closet. Steve Maddens Lapel Trench Coat but Cropped. I also have the full length one, this cropped version has a Unique look. Same open seam back which I absolutely Love, classic trench coat look, just Half the length. It's got a Tailored cut and will come down to your waistline if you're 5"4-5"6ish 100% Polyester, machine washable and dry. Mine came really wrinkled up , because it was rolled up. I put in my dryer on the Steam Cycle and that worked getting the wrinkles out. It's not your average heavyweight trench coat it's made lightweight but still lined which is a must for me personally. But it also makes it versatile to wear for more than just one Season, you'll be able to wear this w/Jeans Slacks, Even Capri's! In fact that's what I'm going to wear it with. A nice pair of white Capri Pants and a Cute top. Price is Under $58 and that's a fantastic price for this coat. I highly recommend you get this Trench Coat. Read more
