The media could not be loaded. Overall unbeatable value. As someone who really enjoys matcha and wants to have it on hand at all times but also drinks it casually and isn’t too serious about having the most premium quality, this little brand was a very lucky find. I truly have no interest in paying 25+ bucks per ounce, and I’m not a stickler for drinking match the traditionalway (I add what I want to add). The green is surprisingly vibrant, the texture is really good, and the taste is much better than expected for only $18.99. You really just can’t beat the value, and I can see myself repurchasing this again because it suits my needs just fine (I got it for lattes.) I WILL SAY, if you are not a fan of bitterness, I don’t recommend this product, then again the bitterness *is* specifically noted in the description of the flavor profile as just a characteristic of this product, so you just have to read lol. But if you’re adding milk and sweeteners, and you put a bit of salt in your matcha (can’t skip the salt), the bitterness practically disappears. If you’re drinking it on its own though, you’ll just have to tolerate it. Anyway, exceptional production for the affordability and size of the brand. I also like the extra seal included in the tin to preserve freshness. I’d say get it!🍵 Read more

I need extra stars to rate this Matcha. This is for matcha LOVERS. Have you ever tasted something and went "WOW"? I just did. The moment I opened the inner bag and smelled the sweet, sugar-snap peas, my hopes went up. Could this be the one? I drink a lot of matcha, and I have tried dozens of "Organic, Ceremonial Grade, First Harvest, Shade Grown, Hand Picked, Stone Ground" different brands of matcha, searching for that WOW. Just LOOK at the color of this matcha prepared as traditional usucha...the standard 2g matcha sifted and whisked into 2oz of water @165-170F. That is without flash on my kitchen counter. It foamed up fast and easily, a beautiful thick emerald green crema. And as I whisked, the smell of fresh green sweet peas, a gorgeous, sweet, intensely vegetal scent hit me full on. That has never happened before. The taste, the taste, well it lived up to the color, the scent, and my hopes. Amazingly smooth, creamy mouthfeel, no chalkiness or grittiness. A heavenly strong tasting matcha, all umami and depth and savory and sweet. Round, with a creaminess like half & half. And the most beautiful, smooth, sweet aftertaste that lingered for several minutes. It was SO good I immediately made a second bowl. Great calm caffeine hit tempered by the L-Theanine content. Because I drink traditional usucha every morning, which is made with water...no sugar, milk, ice, or fruit syrup, I refuse to drink bad or mediocre matcha, but I would go broke drinking the super expensive well known brands. So I've stuck to the middle tier and hoped to find a sleeper like this. Low end "ceremonial &culinary" matcha has it's place in lattes and as a food ingredient where the actual matcha flavor, or lack of flavor in many cases, will be drowned in sugar, syrups, milk, ice or cooked and baked into oblivion. But NOT matcha like this. This matcha shines as a stand alone drink. It's smooth, delicious, uplifting, calming, grounding, all the things traditional Japanese matcha is known for, this is it. I immediately went on Amazon and ordered more. The price went up 10% between my ordering on Tuesday and today, Friday, so grab it now. I just translated the label, (Yay Google!), and researched "Wakasumi white matcha", and this IS a special matcha. "Wakasumi white matcha tea is a premium green tea product known for its unique flavor and health benefits. Type: White matcha is made from young tea leaves that are shade-grown, similar to traditional matcha. Flavor Profile: It has a delicate, sweet taste with a smooth texture, often described as less bitter than regular matcha. "The seller knows what they have, as they are only allowing 1 can per order. If you actually enjoy the taste and experience of good matcha and want one that greatly exceeded my expectations, buy this. Buy it now. You can thank me later. Read more

The media could not be loaded. The moment I opened this matcha, I saw the most vibrant green powder and immediately knew this was going to be wonderful. It smelled very earthy and rich, was easy to whisk and had a rich, creamy look to it. In my video, the shadow made the color appear dull, but i tried my hardest to get some natural light to show a bit of that beautiful green. Lastly, I tried as a latte and as koicha; it tasted exactly as it smelled. There is little to no bitterness when prepared at the proper temperature (170-175 F). Solid purchase, great price and I am looking forward to buying another very soon! Read more

I’ve tried quite a few matchas but wasn’t a fan of this one. It’s bitter and difficult to taste, I also don’t know what it is about this brand but the matcha makes me more jittery and anxious, I am a bit caffeine sensitive but this matcha just doesn’t make me feel well after drinking. Read more

I am dipping my toe in the world of matcha and have been perusing through Amazon to find an affordable ceremonial grade matcha from Japan. The matcha comes packaged in a bag inside the container with a plastic stopper top to boot. It is vibrant green and fragrant when you first open the bag. I made a matcha latte and a "matcha Americano" aka straight up iced matcha. The flavor is vegetal and sweet, not bitter and only slightly astringent towards the end. It's not as complex as some matcha drinks I have gotten from matcha specialty shops, but definitely higher quality and flavor than culinary matcha. It also doesnt clump as much as culinary matcha, though it does show sedimentation if I let it sit around too long (I just used an electric whisk to blend). Overall, it seems to be a good Japanese ceremonial grade matcha powder that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Read more

So I finally got around to using this matcha and honestly the smell and the color when I first put in water had me a bit disappointed. Wasn't as vibrant as some of the others I've used and the smell was more grassy(? not sure how else to espress it). But then I tasted it and wow it was a lot better than I expected. This matcha is definitely not a sweet and floral one but a more grassy and nutty flavor. But if you enjoy a slightly astringent taste I think this is a great option especially at the price point. Definitely will be ordering again Read more
