I generally don't write reviews, but I do use them to select products from Amazon. I felt I should review this product, since some of the reviews I had read expressed difficulty in arrival condition, assembly, or water resistance. I purchased two (2) of these Deck Boxes. The deck box parts arrived in excellent condition and after identifying/separating the pieces prior to assembly, I proceeded to assemble the unit. One person can easily do this assembly, but care should be taken that the correct parts are used at each assembly step, since there are little/no screws/bolts used.....the box assembles by each part being inserted and snapped in place. Once the snap locks in place, disassembly to correct a mistake is difficult at best and may damage the entire product. The assembly took about 12 minutes the first time and about 8 minutes for the second box (based on experience gained with box#1). The box looks great...both the shape, wicker resin detail, and Mocha color. The box has a good storage capacity, but this depends on the thickness of your cushions. I have 2 thick chaise lounge cushions in one box and have some room to spare for 1-2 chair cushions. The other box is similarly filled. Water-resistance: The boxes are out in the open on my lanai and one box has never gotten any visible water inside or even the appearance of just dampness on the bottom. The other box tends to get rains striking at an angle towards the front side and top. This box picked up just a little water/dampness, which I attribute to the water intruding by the lock/clasp area. This is really minor given the heavy rains that they were recently subjected to. Now that I know about that minor entry way for water, I can easily monitor the situation. Overall, I would say the curved top and solid plastic surrounding walls make this unit very water-resistant. I attribute the negative reviews about water-resistance from other reviewers to be the result of bad assembly. This unit is nearly $50.00-$100.00 less expensive than comparable units I have seen in the stores, etc. A great, good-looking buy! I may buy another one or two for other outdoor needs. Read more

I purchased this to keep bags of garden soil, various soil amendments and fertilizers in. For years these items were kept in the garage taking up space. I would have to haul it all out to the back yard and then take it back to the garage when I was finished with it. I was very pleased with the thickness of the plastic, how easy it was to assemble and how sturdy it is. It now sits on the back patio making my gardening a little easier and even more enjoyable. It’s been through several heavy rains and everything inside has stayed dry. I expect it to last many years. Read more

Looked around a number of local stores and online retailers for these style boxes and we bought a couple from amazon. They will live year round outside under a covered porch in Northern Georgia temperatures (highs 20s - mid 90s). Only had them for a couple weeks, but they are holding up nicely as they have survived our recent cold snap without issue. Here are the pros/cons: Pros: - Went together REALLY easily. Built two in about 30 minutes (including unboxing time). It's all plastic-resin "snap-on" connections, so tools really are not needed - Packaging was solid and pieces are well crafted. Of the two, there was only one small scratch on the back of one of the panels. No big deal as it will be against a wall and I'm sure being outside, they will take a bit more abuse in their lives. The coloring was all uniform and it really looks like wicker. - I was a bit worried when I saw it was all "snap-on" type connections, but once built, I was very impressed with the stability of the units. Although advertised as a seat as well, I was skeptical that it would hold my weight (6'2" 215 lb), but it did with no flexing. - Appears to be pretty waterproof - time will tell, but since it's plastic/resin, the wicker is just decorative, and it's a solid panel underneath. Some of the other we looked at we're actually wicker and permeable. Cons: - Some of the others we looked at had nicer pneumatic style hinges that opened and closed a little more easily. These are just simple hinged lids... they are light weight, and plenty easy to open. - As it's all "snap-on", i'm a little concerned that the plastic may warp a bit in the Georgia heat, but time will tell. Overall, very pleased and would order again. They are available at local big box stores if you want to check them out, but as usual, amazon beats their prices by about 10%. UPDATE (1/2015): Nearly two years later, and these boxes are both still perfect. I have had one under a patio roof outside and the other directly exposed to the elements. Both look identical with no noticeable fading, warping, etc. They are both still watertight, and have done a great job of keeping our supplies clean and dry. When the boxes themselves get dirty, I just hose them down and occasionally use a brush with some dish soap (after pollen season) and they look brand new. Highly recommended. Read more
