I like this hat a lot! I'm no stranger to Sunday Afternoons sun hats. I have the Sport hat, Adventure hat, and Ultra Adventure hat. I've discovered that I really like to have a folding bill. The Sport and Adventure hats are great, but harder to pack away when you take them off. The Sun Tripper is light, fits my head really well, and shields my eyes. It's great for days you don't don't want to look like you're on safari. I'll never replace the Sunday Afternoons hats with the large brims and neck capes, but some days they aren't necessary. On those days, the Sun Tripper is perfect. Pros: light, comfortable, foldable, resists light rain, stays on in the wind. (The Adventure and Sport hats are like sails :) Cons: cream color is closer to khaki than white. Not a con, but something to note: this is a cap to shade your eyes, not a hat to shade your face. That said, I'm quite happy with it. Read more

I have been wearing this model hat since 2010. My first one (Khaki) was worn in Cambodia everyday for 5 years I lived there and only about the last couple months before retiring it, it got a couple tears on the top. Since then I just bought my third one 2022. All black since I am back in Seattle. I like the style and before finding this hat I never wore any hat and rather despised ball caps. I am not saying this is a ball cap, it is much, much better. More comfortable, more usable and the fact it can fold up and fit in your back pocket is amazing. I dread the day when this company quits making them or goes out of business. BTW, you may look at that price and say "Wow, that is expensive!" but think about longevity, it is about $5 or so a year! I hope you enjoy as much as I have! Read more

The media could not be loaded. I own two of these hats. I bought the tan Sun Tripper cap at the Sunday Afternoons store in Ashland Oregon, in spring 2017. The Mesa Red/Slate cap came from Amazon in October 2020. I took the picture comparing the two on October 19, 2021 and they both look brand new. I bought the Mesa Red/Slate hat because I was tired of my 10 year old son borrowing mine. I wouldn't normally pay $28 for a kids hat, but this is a DURABLE, quality hat. I ordered him a size medium and the cord adjustment in the back tightened enough to fit just right. Have I mentioned it *folds* !!!?? That was definitely a selling point for me. It fits in my purse, the door of my car, the side of my hiking pack and in my pants back pocket. SO convenient ! Other reviewers mentioned stains, but we haven't had any problems. Note our family picture, you can clearly see sweat soaking through the Mesa Red hat my son is wearing. I throw it in the washing machine on cold (and air dry) and the sweat always comes out. I know it says hand wash only, but I don't have time for that. Ours get machine washed once or twice a month. Just one reason it's not a 5 star: at 2 3/8 inch brim, it's just enough for sun coverage but 1/4" or 1/2" more would be incredible ! Read more

love product - my 4th or 5th purchase over past 20 years in different colors. Also purchased a different style from same vendor. must add i love the "Secret" pocket in head liner of hat. Able to hold ID, credit card and/or a few dollar bills. The slots on the outside to insert eye piece of glasses is also an excellent feature Read more

I love this hat so much I bought it twice. One is a dirty hiking hat, the other I wear on my walk home from work. Very comfortable, very cute and flattering. I had skin cancer on my scalp so hats are essential and this one is my favorite. Read more

Needed a hat that would fold up and fit in a jacket pocket for travel but not look like it. Measured and ordered appropriate size based on sizing chart. Fit was correct, quality was as advertised. Read more

I wore this hat for nearly 8 months at work on a lake and I loved it. Lost it in the lake because of a fault of my own and realizing how much I loved that hat when I came back to my old Amazon purchase history. Let me tell you about this amazing hat. This was a perfect hat for the lake because of its easily adjustable shock cord. We got micro bursts that rolled through occasionally and with a quick pull at the back of the hat I had it cinched down nice and tight so the wind didn't send it into the depths. If I ever worried the hat wasn't going to stay on my head I could just fold it up and shove it in my back pocket! The vented sides also helped considerably in the 100+ degree summer heat. Though I did have to wash it a few times in the 8 months of ownership. The tan hat I had did start to show some sweat stains after awhile and I would imagine this might be worse or start sooner with a darker colored hate. (I see the come in many colors now, which is nice.) The hat also weighed next to nothing so you barely even notice it up there. I also like a good baseball style hat over the very touristy looking outdoor hats some people wear. If you don't want to look like a goober, and also don't want to ruin your favorite baseball caps this hat is perfect for those outdoor adventures. Glad I looked back in time here cause I think I'm going to pick up another one of these. The only decision now is what color! Read more

It is a hat, works well as a hat, quality is good. However I bought this specific model for the 'sunglass lock,' but it ends up being useless. It does work, but is too much of a hassle to 'store' them away, can not easily switch between 'stowed' and on the face. Read more
