I had a bad feeling when this arrived home (Whole Foods pickup order) and saw “product of China” printed on the back. Now, China does great tea, but matcha is a Japanese thing. The description/marketing language and photos say Japan and Japanese multiple times, so that’s quite disingenuous. I finished a different brand bag first (tried quite a few—never had one this bad) and when I finally opened this I knew I was in trouble. Could hardly even be called green, let alone the bright vibrant green of quality matcha. It’s yellow-brown. Let’s call it baby poop color. I made my morning matcha latte anyway because I’m an addict, and not only did it look very unappealing due to the color, but the taste is disgusting. Inedible. I use a blender because I’m lazy yet this was still grainy—that’s also never happened before. Stay far away. There are lots of totally acceptable actually Japanese matcha options for the same price. One of the best quality Matcha products I’ve bought in recent years! Hands down the best ! I have tried many kind of match on the market and this one really does do the job! I take this for detoxing liver and kidneys and for the caffeine! With a little Frothed Dairy free milk and honey it’s amazing!!!! I highly recommend this product. When I got mine and I cut off the protective part of the bag and it was unsealed and burst onto my clothes. I was upset because I just wanted a drink before a date and I was wearing a dress so it took some time to clean. And then I saw the sealing part of my bag does not work, it's broken. I can't reseal it and the match is so fine I don't want to move all of it. So I just awkward and carefully folding and tie it. The taste is very very light. I know it said light taste but for any of you who have had matcha before it is very very light in taste. I feel okay when I drink it but the texture is very hard to mix. I did a lot of different things and the clumps were just not great. It does have a bit of a bitterness aftertaste to it so if you're not a fan I wouldn't recommend. It's been okay for me mostly in terms of drinking it but I don't think I would buy from this brand again. Read more
