I like the black fabric piece at the top too, most other umbrellas didn't have that, it's a nice touch. Crank works well and feels nice and sturdy. I only gave it 4 stars because mine came with a tear in it. Unfortunately we saw it after it was all set up and we were sitting underneath it admiring how nice it was. I'm returning it and getting another one sent to me. Now to take it down/apart, and drive to the UPS store because that's the only choice I had.
