I put this in my garage and boy howdy - did it make a huge difference! It is like night and day difference in there now! The quality of the light is so nice, I don’t even have to open the door now to see properly. Before, I just had a little T8 fluorescent light that lit up the garage that was better after installing LED bulbs in it, but still not great. Not anymore! Installation of the light was pretty easy - I just had to put the hanging hook into a stud in the ceiling and then hang the light. The hardest part was running the power cord to a nearby outlet. That took some thinking to figure out a good spot to put it that was fairly well-centered. But it all worked out. Now, it is so much brighter in there! I found the light to be a really easy size to deal with. It is about a foot in diameter and hangs down about 6 inches off the ceiling. Pretty easy to put just about anywhere. It powers on as soon as you plug it in, so having a switched outlet or some kind of control switch in between might be a desired add-on. Overall, though, this is a great light and I love having as much light now in the garage that it has. It has made a world of difference in being in there now! Read more

I was looking for a way to add some more light to my shop and this was a great option. My shop had some light, but nowhere near the amount that I was wanting to be able to see the fine detail projects that I was do. This light simply plugs into a standard outlet and can hang from the provided chain or off of an eyelet. If you have never used one of these lights you will find out that they are bright. When you consider the cost of a standard fluorescent light fixture, this is a great and affordable option that gives you so much light. Would buy again. Read more

I tried this out in my garage (eight-foot ceilings), and it was not a good application. The light is way too bright and casts a pretty bad shadow when used at that height. I put it in my warehouse shop ( 15 foot ceilings) and it is great! The light is amazingly bright and lit the entire section up with white light! I have outlets in the ceiling that are ran to a switch, so it was super easy to plug in and go to work immediately! I love the hook. It made it very easy to attach to the metal joists in the ceiling. After running for a few minutes, I did notice it was hot to the touch. So keep that in mind and plan for proper spacing for the light to vent and keep from overheating.
