PROBLEM: Had continual pain despite using many professional and custom made orthotics. Finally, i decided to diagnose myself. I paid attention to the pain patterns over time. I decided that instead of a custom orthotic that actually locks the foot into a certain position, i wanted an orthotic that is flexible and allows the foot to flex naturally, but at the same time provides a floor below which the arch will not collapse. SOLUTION: This orthotic will not exactly fit your foot. It will also not provide much support when your arch is at its highest position. That is the point. It's a feature, not a bug. It allowed my foot to move dynamically like a normal foot should. RESULT: Outstanding. Pain stopped completely within a few weeks. My foot got stronger over time to the point that i can even walk without any orthotic. But i still use it if for long stretches of walking or standing. I can walk and stand or hike for hours like i was when i was much younger. OTHER: it's cheap so i buy several and put them in different shoes so I don't have to bother with moving them. In my sneakers & dress shoes (which i use the most) they last about a year or a little more. For less used shoes they can last a lot more. I always have a couple extra just in case! Depending your foot and muscles, you may combine it with a foot wedge to raise your heel a bit. i do that because my calves are very tight and the extra 1/4 or 1/2 inch height made a HUGE difference in comfort. But that means the arrangement will work only in deep shoes. Overall: Highly recommended. Read more
Got this for a couple of shoes which are too high for full insoles to be inserted without significantly bending the insoles. I have medium arches which are not strong enough for shoes with no arch support. The insoles works good enough for that and have significantly reduced foot pain. Note that these might slide a bit inside while inserting your foot, but stay put after lacing up. Read more
Thin, very comfortable. Alleviated my planters fasciitis symptoms! Good price for arch supports. Read more
Flat feet. I have prescription insoles and they won't fit in any shoe that doesn't have a wide toebox; you're supposed to trim them but I like the way they fit in my daily boots (Red Wings). I got these while my custom insoles were being modified. While my custom insoles wouldn't, they fit my dance shoes, will probably fit my running shoes, and hopefully will also fit my dress shoes (Allen Edmonds). They are that thin. No need to size up shoes so far. As for support, I used to get throbbing foot pain in my arches that lasts for a few days after doing physical activity, usually running, dancing, or lifting. I went dancing in my dance shoes and the next day there was no pain. Maybe there was but a different kind of pain, not the usual 3-day-plus throbbing pain but maybe pain from using a different muscle for the first time. Something was definitely there but it didn't seem as intense or that bad. Today is the second day after use and there is no pain at all. When I danced without an insole, I'd still be feeling it. I did get a blister on both my arches though. The insole is a bit hard and maybe my socks are too thin but I plan to put moleskin on the insole arch to pad it. They also slide around in the shoe if your feet don't fit or aren't in the shoe. Usually, once you get your feet situated and your shoes tied, the insole stays in place. I'd buy these again. In fact, I might buy another so I don't have to switch them around so much. Honestly, if I could do it again, I'd try and make these work first before shelling out $$$ for the custom prescription insole. Prescription insoles are pretty expensive so, if you're on the fence about prescription insoles because of flat foot pain, I'd try these first. Might as well try a ~$30 option before committing to a $300-1000 option. The advice for all insoles whether prescription or not: wear it gradually before wearing it for a full day. Wear it for an hour or two the first day, longer for the second, and so on. Pressure and pain can happen when wearing it for the first time so you have to ween yourself on it. My podiatrist says you can hurt your feet for just jumping in to it right away. Read more
I wear SuperFeet instead of the Podiatrist custom inserts. I have been wearing them now for a bout 4 years and my plantar fasciitis is pretty much held in check unless I do an activity without the inserts. Last time I played tennis for an hour without inserts it took two weeks to recover, so I know it's still there but never feel it as long as I wear inserts and flip flops with arch support when around the house. I find the Olukai to be very high quality and don't break down too fast. Back to SuperFeet, I have 4 other pairs of full length and have been using some half length Dr. Schols for about 1 year in my casual shoes. They worked ok at first but started breaking down after six months of occasional use. I have been wearing these 1/2 sized SuperFeet for a few months in those casual shoes but also in my leather dress shoes everyday at work. They fit better than the full length and they provide better support in those shoes than either the full length or the short term Dr. Schols that I mentioned. No sign of any wear not even to the gold lettering! These look nice in my dress shoes because they are brown and look like leather a nice touch compared to taking off your dress shoes and seeing neon colored insoles! lol! Super high quality and save my feet, Love these ! Worth every penny! Read more
