I liked this sweater, true to size, but the red was a bright red - which was fine if you're looking for a red sweater. To me, the photo looked a little darker and muted. The 'cap sleeves' stuck out too far, but I found that they would turn under easily for more of a sleeveless look instead of cap sleeves that stick out. If I had kept it, I would tack the sleeves under - super easy fix. I will order another one in a different color. The sweater quality was very nice! Read more

Even though it is still relatively hot outside where I live, it will begin to cool off within the next month. As much as I want to embrace the warmth and pretend that I will continue to wake up to one gorgeous day after another indefinitely, I cannot stop the inevitable. So I may as well begin preparing. The only thing I enjoy about those chilly mornings and crisp nights is being embraced by warm, cozy layers. When I saw this sweater vest on Amazon, to me, it looks like the perfect transitional piece. It arrived on my doorstep yesterday evening, which allowed me the opportunity to wear it for a few hours and collect my thoughts about it. I ordered it in the apricot color, online it looked a warm caramel color for a lack of a better description. In person, I can see why the color would be referred to as apricot, but it is still not a true apricot in any sense. It has a pinkish undertone to it, but it has more of a warm, earthy appearance than the orangey color apricot is known to be. It’s neutral enough that it will have plenty of versatility in terms of what other colors it can be paired with. By all appearances, the sweater vest is well made. The knit is tightly woven, it has a thick, heavier weight to it. As a sweater vest, it is very straightforward in its design. It has an oversized fit that blouses out a bit over the waistband. I ordered a size large, I wish I had ordered a medium instead. It seems to run a bit large, but it still fits comfortably. The fabric doesn’t scratch or irritate my skin at all. What I love most about this piece is the countless ways in which it can be worn. Right now, while it is still quite warm outside, I can wear it by itself with a camisole underneath and a skirt or a pair of pants with it. It is long enough that it could be belted at the top of the waistband in order to create a more classic look. When the temperature begins to drop, this sweater vest will add an extra layer of warmth over a turtleneck or button down top, and a blazer over top. While looking over the fabric knit along with the general construction of this sweater, I didn’t come across any flaws or errors. The fabric doesn’t seem to pill at all, nor does it seem delicate in any way. It was made very well, and because of its straightforward, understated appearance, it is truly a very classic piece. It is something that can be worn any time of the year, and it will look just as great tomorrow as it will 5 years from now. Considering that it is priced under $25, this is definitely an investment worth making, and one that will pay for itself sooner than later! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a truly classic sweater vest that will offer an incredible amount of versatility. Read more

This vest is very short and boxy and did not look good on me. I am 5'1' - it probably looks fine on a taller person. I loved the yarn's texture and the weave but it just did't suit me. Read more

This sweater vest is nice enough but just misses being a 5 star item. It is fine for wearing over another shirt or sweater but I wouldn't suggest wearing it alone as it's boxy and doesn't fit snugly thru the armpits. It is pulled in slightly at the waist which gives it a more blousy effect. The color I got is a beautiful shade of honey brown with matching buttons. It is advertised as being machine washable but I would wash it by hand as I'd worry about pilling if I ran it through the wash. It does run large; I ordered a small and it's much too baggy for my taste, but I prefer a more fitted style. A good value for pthe price if this is your style. Read more
