I’m a full time student so I use this backpack at least 30 hours each week during the spring and fall semesters and it’s been holding up great so far. I’ve used it in total for a few months now. I really like how everything is compartmentalized, I don’t have problems looking for anything small. I also really like the padding for my laptop. My favorite thing about this bag and the suspended straps. I had a jansport before and it was great and I still like it but it kills my back having on for a long period. This bag doesn’t give me that problem, it almost feels weightless. I only have one complaint, it’s a little awkward getting wide binders out of the bag. The bag is wide at the bottom and slim at the top so yes it can hold wide binders but the corners of your binder will always catch the top of the back pack as you’re pulling it out. I know it’s a “mini” but still something to think about if you have a lot of wide binders. Overall, it’s a great bag and I’ll probably stick with Swiss if the rest of their products are this good. I am replacing a worn-out Thule backpack which I liked. I have to say this SwissGear has many more features: - It is really sturdy - Has strong, comfortable straps - Vented padding for your back - FIts my 14" Mac including its case and has an easy to use strap to restrain it - Plenty of room and a variety of compartments - Two mesh water bottle pockets - Compression straps and, wait for it, - A trolley strap for your roller bag! Best of all it is not overally large. This is great day-to-day bag for your PC/Mac and really designed for traveling, it will easily fit in front of your seat on the airplane. It is a great value for the quality and features. Read more

I bought this as a work bag for nursing, and it has been great. It has lots of space for large and small objects. It's easy to wipe clean. It's comfortable to wear. The lap top protection is fantastic and so that I can bring my personal laptop and my work laptop when I need to. Read more

I bought this Swossgear 1900 mini in beige for $40 on prime day. For that price it feels like a decent value, but you could pay the $85 if you really want it. Overall I like this backpack a lot so far, particularly it's size, feel, and look. It's advertised as a woman's backpack but I don't give a ****. I am a man, 6' tall, with large size shoulders but slim waist. For laptops and devices and a few knick knacks, it's perfect. Big back packs tend to annoy me and get in my way, especially when grabbing something out of the car, or going through a narrow opening, or tight crowd, or take up leg space under the table... Not this backpack, this backpack is a reasonable size that doesn't overemphasize your proportions in any one dimension too much when worn. The material is decent, a kind of mid -range nylon, the pockets are good, the right amount of pockets in the right places, with detailed compartments in the pockets. The stitching looks questionable. That's my only concern. Also the laptop compartment doesn't fit with my laptop in a dedicated sleeve. Even for a MacBook air. There's 2 strange rectangular holes on the small front compartment, deliberate, no idea what they are for, I guess for rain water to enter? And the zippers could be smoother. The plastic strap ends/loops for the shoulder straps are... Interesting... The carabineer looks cool, but I wouldn't put anything too heavy, probably not a bottle of water, maybe a small, light portable speaker or utility knife. Over all I'm satisfied at $40. Read more

Just completed my first trip with the Swiss gear mini. It's perfectly sized for carry-on, and unlike a larger one, at 16" it doesn't extend beyond telescopic handle of my rollaboard, and with the dedicated rollaboard strap slides right on and off the handle for the TSA xray and doesn't tip it over like some larger packs. There are two external water bottle pouches and a dedicated sunglasses compartment. It's small enough that when used as a carry-on, not only fits under the seat in front of me but room for my legs too. The quality is high and with the exception of the sunglasses pouch every opening is double zippered. It's large enough for a day of hiking too with plenty of room for a change of clothes and snacks. I'm very pleased with this purchase and hope it holds up with time and use. Read more

Okay so this is my second scansmart backpack. I wanted to get a slightly smaller one since sometimes the domestic US flights don't have as much room under the seats. The scanSmart pocket makes it easy to lay your pack down without having to remove your laptop on the scanning conveyor belt at the airport. So if you don't have TSA pre-check, then it's one less annoying thing to remove from your carry on /personal item. The bag itself has enough compartments and room to pack your water bottle, snacks, wallet, tech gear (chargers, extra battery pack) and a set of overnight clothes. Great product, the stitching is very well done and it's not plastic inside the bag for lining the bag. That's my honest review! Read more
