It needed to be charged, so I did, then it literally almost lit a cigarette and stopped working. I bought this for a friend who smokes, I don’t, but this was a waste of money. Even plugging it in, you have to position it exactly in a certain way or doesn’t charge, if ur off by half a degree, doesn’t work, it’s just a bad design, bad product, I had another one that I used to light insence and worked great, similar, but flatter, thinner, with a touch switch, that one worked good for a long time. Hmmm, it's all right. But not as effective as it could be. Kind of weak. After a dozen uses it becomes rather hard to light anything. Read more
Bought this for my 70 yr old mother that refuses to let go of her 3 cigarettes a day habit. She has arthritis in her hands and cannot operate a regular lighter. This electronic lighter does the job. It is easy for her to slide the button down to turn it on. It has not malfunctioned in anyway. Really like that the light blinks when it needs a charge, super excited that it has a usb to recharge the battery (we won't talk about trying to teach her that part) Works in all sorts of weather and is reliable in the wind. Definitely would recommend this product! Read more
I bought two models labeled FIREWARE. The one with a flip-top works fine. The second with a sliding panel did not work at all. I supposed it needed charging, so I plugged into my PC, it blinked twenty times. I left it there a couple hours, then took it out. Sliding the panel had no effect. Too bad both came from the same company because usually when a product doesn't work correctly, I just never buy from that company again - I don't like returning things. Read more
It was nice while it lasted; never had a problem with it except the USB plug was very difficult to retract at first, causing me to accidentally scrape the paint off the side near the button trying to push it in and slide it at the same time. But the other day it stopped working without warning. It hadn't gotten wet or been dropped, and at first I thought it might be just low on charge. But I charged it up and still nothing. A little disappointed since I enjoyed using it and figured it would last for awhile because it seems sturdily-built. Read more
I ordered 2 of these lighters. Both arrived without a charge. Tried charging for hours, but no joy. Neither would hold a charge. They were returned as defective. Read more
Horrible product, I want a refund. Never worked. Never came in a package, couldn't charge it for it to work. Complete waste of time and money. Read more
5 stars for customer service! PROS: Wind-proof, rechargeable, won't burn your nose hairs. Blinking LED tells you when the battery is low. CONS: Doesn't always light. Takes more time and effort to light a cigarette than a butane lighter. Needs to be recharged after fewer than 100 lights. Not for lighting pipes or fires. It's a cool idea, but I'm not convinced it's economical. I paid $10 at a gas station for this lighter because, coincidentally, I had recently thought such a thing should exist. I invented this before I saw it on the shelf. I was, in a way, the perfect test customer. I already liked the idea, and I was ready to put it to the test. It worked fine for the off-the-shelf charge, which was about 30 lights. The blue LED let me know the battery was getting low, and it had maybe 3 more lights before it was dead. It took about 2 hours to recharge it. It worked fine for the next 30-40 lights, and then it wouldn't light, though the low-battery signal wasn't blinking. I tried to recharge, which took about 5 minutes. It still wouldn't light a cigarette. I gave up. Later, it worked better. The sliding switch might have a problem, because sometimes the coil doesn't get hot on the first try. It might be that ash fell into the contacts and interfered with its normal function. I've been using it all day, and it hasn't failed yet. Still, to be worth $10, it needs to last as long as 8 Bic lighters. I doubt the battery will last that long, but I've been wrong before. DISCLAIMER: I wrote a one-star review of this lighter, based on a short (two-week) test. After I used it more, I realized my review was unfair. but I didn't bother to change it. Yesterday the Amazon merchant contacted me, and offered to send me a replacement. I declined, because I didn't buy it from them, and because my review was unfair. This is my second review. The Amazon merchant repeated the offer to send me a replacement, for my input. So, I have to give this merchant 5 stars for customer service. Read more
