Out of the packaging, this product held pumped air properly. Shortly into play time, it did not. I see other reviews where this is not uncommon. Here's what I did next: -I submersed the inflatable section into a dish of water and gave the some pump squeezes. I could see the air was leaking not from the inflatable (toy), but from the connection between the pump's hose, where the needle tip inserts into the toy's valve. -The solution was nothing more than to carefully, yet firmly tighten the needle tip's fitting into the pump's hose fitting. Using basic pliers to carefully grab the knurled ring of the needle tip 's fitting made for quick work to tighten it. See three photos for clarity. I used only finger pressure to hold the hose fitting steady while tightening (though not shown in last photo). Two play sessions since this fix and nothing has come loose nor leaked air. I accept the product may burst or fail at some other point, but the cost was low enough I won't sweat it. Give this a try if your toy won't hold air and you should be back to play time very quickly!
