My optometrist actually recommended two brands of Systane eye drops for me - this one for when I"m wearing contacts and Systane Balance - Restorative Formula for when I'm not wearing them. These drops have been nothing short of miraculous for me. They are pricier than drugstore eye drops but they are well worth it. I work in an ophthalmology clinic, so I see people with severe eye conditions everyday. Take it from me. Treat your eyes well even if it means using products that may cost a little more. It'll always be worth it because you only have one set of eyes. These drops have made my eyes more lubricated and have made wearing contacts a million times easier. I know longer get irritated and dry eyes when I have contacts on. I'm so glad my optometrist discouraged me from using the drugstore eye drops that I used before and replaced them with these. I had no problem with dry eyes until I had cataract surgeries in 2011. The surgeon gave me lubricating Systane eye drops. Months later, I returned to see my surgeon because of double vision -- images were stacking vertically and the result was a severe blur. At times, I could not see anything clearly that was more than about 3 feet away. I could tug an eyelid up and down and tune to a sharp image. The problem was quickly solved. My eyes were dry, and the drag of my blinking eyelids as they moved vertically over my eyeballs caused them to produce double images. I have tried lubricating Visine, Bausch-Lomb, and others, and they all delivered for me poor results. So far, only Systane Ultra gives my eyes sufficient lubrication to last for about 8 hours. This was recommended by my eye Dr. I was experiencing some dry eyes and discomfort during work hours due to so much time spent looking at the computer monitor. This is so soothing! There is no burning or irritation like other eye drops, just instant relief that lasts quite a while. It only takes a drop in each eye a couple of times a day and I don't constantly feel like blinking or rubbing my eyes. I purchase this again and I will thank my doc for the advice! Read more

I use eye drops for my dry eyes every five minutes, 24/7. So you can trust me when I say that these are the best drops for severe dry eyes on the market. They simply work better than any other drop out there, and believe me, I've tried them all. Because they're preservative-free, you can use them all day like me, without any of the irritating side effects of drops that contain preservatives. The only drawback is the price, which when you use them as much as I do, could cost you as much as a used car. Also, the viscous nature of the product does create a thin crust on the eyelid margins over time, which should be removed with a wet cloth or better still, just soap and hot water. Keeping the eyelid margins scrupulously clean is a "must" for folks with Dry Eye Syndrome like myself. I just wish I owned stock in the company! Read more

My eyes get irritated and itchy 4 or 5 times daily and these drops feel SOOO great when I use them. Although I have medicated drops, I need to limit how much I use them. These are very neutral, but refreshing so I can use them as much as needed. Read more
