I've recently been suffering from severe dry eye to the point that I ended up having severe blepharitis on one of my eyelids. I went to the ophthalmologist for treatment and was told that my eyelids actually don't close completely (genetic). He gave me a prescription for the blepharitis and told me that from now on, I need to be religious about applying eye lubricating drops. When I asked if he had a recommended brand, he told me to only use the Systane brand because they are "the best"... and wow, he was right! I've used all sorts of eye drop brands in the past and never really got 100% relief from any of them. These systane drops, however, are incredible! My eyes feel so soothed after applying 1-2 drops per eye, and the feeling lasts for hours. Per my ophthalmologist, I use these Systane Ultra drops at least 6 times per day everyday (apparently for the rest of my life thanks to "great" genetics lol). When the air is especially dry and/or my allergies are more severe, I alternate the Systane Ultra drops with Systane Balance drops. I also use the Systane Gel drops just before I go to sleep, which have also made a big difference. This pack of 3 bottles is quite the bargain - these bottles run anywhere from $10 to $15 at any of my local stores. I'm hoping to find the Systane Balance and Gel drops bottles in the value pack, too... no luck yet, but I guess I have the rest of my life to search for them. :) Read more

These are great eye drops to clean n lubricant eyes. I talked to my vet and am able to use them in my dogs eyes. My dog actually likes them. They get the goop out of her eyes. Highly recommend! Read more

Seriously, these have to be by far the best eye drops on the market! I have used eye drops for years, daily contact use and long days spent in front of computer screens left me with chronic dry eye. I have used my brands, but then I had Lasik surgery done and none of them were strong enough for my super dry eyes (the surgery componded the effect). Then I found Systane and my eyes felt a sense of relief I had never experienced before. I use far less drops now and couldn't be happier with these drops. I really think they have aided in my eyes healing and re-moisturizing themselves naturally now. I highly recommend these drops. Read more

Recommended by my eye doc as "the best". They work well for me, but I have not tried other brands. The sticker price is a bit shocking - this 3 pack from SuperValu is the best price I have found. The bottles are small, I like to have one upstairs, one down and one for the purse. The last batch I had lasted quiet a long time. I have a bottle to my sister who was having dry eye problems related to chemo, and she said they help her greatly. Read more

I take antihistamines and wear contact lenses. Been waking up with gunky itchy eyes and having trouble seeing in the morning. Ah yes, dry eye syndrome. I read a bit on the Internet and this brand is a step up from Blink, but not as heavy duty as ointments. Who needs ointments with contact lenses? Really. I use drops in the morning and put my lenses in and then take my lenses out, add a couple drops before I got to bed. Perfect. Unlike Blink which feels like a heavy gel, this stuff is like water - and in fact that's a downside. It's easy to have it run down your cheek if you are not careful. Otherwise, there is nothing not to like. No eye irritation; works with my contacts and lasts at least 8 hours. I can now wear my lenses all day + without any issues. If I need to refresh, just pull down your lower lid and add another drop or two - just be careful not to touch the tip to your lid. Read more

Many of us who are elderly have a condition of dryness calling sicca syndrome. If your eyes are very dry it might be called keratoconjunctivitis sicca or another name depending on what is most affected. I have used a variety of artificial tears and like Systane Ultra the best. It seems to last longer than most others. When I have used the cellulose based lubricant eye drops sometimes they dry out and crystallize and form a tiny clump in the corner of the eye. Eye doctors can utilize several other remedies such as Restasis which is supposed to increase your production of tears, or tiny plugs inserted in the corner of your eyes to keep the tears from draining down the lacrimal canal into your nose. You can learn a great deal more about dry eyes on the Internet but you are likely to have to use a lubricant like Systane Ultra and maybe an eye ointment at night. Don't hesitate to see an eye doctor if you have eye pain, redness or blurred vision. Blindness is no fun! Read more
