Tanologist Hydrating Daily Glow Body Lotion- Medium Dark Buildable Transfer-Proof Gradual Self Tanner Summer Fragrance Natural Not Orange

I am 45 years old and don't like to tan my skin, because of skin health and aging reasons. I am avid sunscreen wearer. I have light/medium skin. I purchased fair the fair to medium glow body lotion. My skin can be on drier side. Using lotion is a must for me after showering. I love this product. So many self-tan products are stinky and do not moisturize enough. This product does not stink and my sensitive/dry skin feels hydrated. The fair to medium took several applications to do anything to my skin. Even though I love the product, I may buy light to medium next. After about 5 applications, my skin is looking glowy and has a bit of a tan. I am getting some color pay off. The pay off is enough for Fall and Winter. As with any self-tan product, I would recommend exfoliating at weekly at the very least. Pay close attention to the knees, elbows, folds hands, and feet. Wash your hands after application. You can go in afterwards and apply to the tops of the hands and feet with a kabuki brush if you want. I find that to be the easiest way. I love this product. It is the best have found so far for a gradual and buildable tan without the downsides that so many self-tanners have. I highly recommend trying this product if you want a little color and are looking for something that actually provides some skincare benefits. If you skin is light, start with a lighter shade. I am a very pale person with very sensitive skin. I got the "Fair to Medium" lotion, applied some all over in the evening, and let's just say I fell asleep looking like Kirsten Dunst, woke up looking like Eva Longoria ;-) But in all seriousness, I was surprised by how quickly the tan started to develop. The next day I could wear shorts without feeling like I was walking around with pasty-white legs. It definitely gives you a natural, glowing tan! After the second application, I decided to rinse off the lotion after about 6 hours because the tan was developing a bit too quickly, and I wanted to take it slow to get the right shade. One area on my arm was streaky, but I think it's because I was impatient and didn't spend enough time blending in the lotion. I'd highly recommend this product! No complaints about the scent. It's got a very faint tanning lotion smell, but not nearly as bad as the stuff we used in the early 2000's. (Not as strong as Jergens.) Read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Tanologist Firming Daily Glow Body Lotion. I love that this is a gradual tanner and it can be built up. I do not notice and streaking or splotchiness when using this lotion. I notice a slight splash of color after one application. I will usually apply it again the next day and that is when I notice a fair bit of color. I will say that this lotion does have that self-tanner scent by the end of the day. It is very light and tolerable though. From my experience, the color fades beautifully and does not look bad when it begins to wear off. I always apply a small bit of lotion on my elbows, knees and ankles before application just to prevent color from gathering up on my more dry area. The color also looks amazing on hands and feet. I always wash my hands immediately after application and have never really had an issue with my hands discoloring. This lotion is fantastic at giving me a tan color and never turning me orange! It also does not transfer. I wear a lot of white and also have white bed sheets and have never seen any color transfer. Overall, this tanning product is absolutely amazing and I would hightly recommend it. For reference, I have used Jergens wet skin gradual tanner in the past and was never blown away by it due to it transferring and sometimes the color would look splotchy. I find that the Tanologist daily tanner is way better. I also can not speak to the firming claim due to me not having used this product long-term and also I am someone who workouts daily, so I would probably not notice any benefits to begin with. I have used this every night after my shower for the last 4 days and I can say the tan is very gradual. I notice a slight tan to my usually fair/olive skin, but nothing dramatic, which is fine. If you needed a good tan for an event or by a deadline I'd recommend using this daily for some weeks before hand. The smell does start out pleasant, however within 30min or so the usual self tanner smell arrives and does not leave. I apply this hours before bed and when I wake up the next day I still smell like self tanner. The smell is not as strong as others but still apparent. The hydrating factor is non existent for me. It dries out my skin alot so after a few hours I have to apply a deep moisture lotion on top. I will say, I have not noticed any issues with streaks so that is a plus.
