Currently using this to conceal a Retin-A purge and it is even better than expected. I can even put it on top of a thick occlusive moisturizer (necessary to protect my skin barrier right now) and it will weightlessly mattify without drying. It looks thin and wet when you first put it on, but just give it 30 minutes and it will settle into a powder like texture much like bare-minerals but without the need to use brushes (that always break me out no matter how well I clean). It is the only makeup Ive ever used that does not break me out. In fact it seems to be calming my skin. The little tube is very small for the price, but the coverage and quality without the irritation is worth it for me. I usually wear light shades but ordered fair light due to other reviews that it runs dark (this was the right choice). It isn’t long wear (4-5 hours) but if you want some coverage without further damaging or suffocating your skin this is it. Read more
Love the amount of coverage, light enough to look natural but covers enough to give you that light filter look. Read more
I do love the soft blur finish & the texture is like whipped velvet. Very flexible, buildable product also. I did have trouble with it separating & settling into my fine lines over the course of an evening. Withing 4-5 hours it was looking pretty rough. I did use a priming & setting spray multiple times in application but perhaps this needs something heavy duty to keep it in place. I'd try it again with careful application & industrial setting spray. Just beware it isn't longwear. Read more
The best tinted moisturizer! I have used this for two years now and it’s great. Goes on very smooth and doesn’t have a smell. Read more
I used to love wearing makeup through the first half of my twenties. As I hit my mid twenties, I didn't wear it as much. I switched over to Bare Minerals which lasted longer than liquid makeup and was kinder to my skin. As I hit my 30s, I just stopped wearing makeup all together but not for any particular reason at all. I think laziness. Just kidding. Actually, it's because I am so overwhelmed with all of my commitments (single parent, disabled child, work, college, etc. all the excuses). When I hit 35, I made myself a promise to fix myself up more often and I am trying! :) My skin HATES liquid foundation these days. I itch and scratch and it's horrible! I am so uncomfortable with it. I did start using Lancome's mineral makeup (which I love but don't use often) but I wanted something a little less powdery for daily wear. I learned about BB cream online. I think one of the beauty bloggers or something. Also, I am a fan of K-Dramas and maybe I have this unrealistic expectation that my skin will look amazing like theirs. Kidding. Maybe not.... So, of course, my quest to find a perfect BB cream started. I tried L'oreals BB and that was AWFUL. It went on grayish and when it "settled", it looked ok but I itched like liquid foundation and I threw that to the side. I then found Tarte's BB cream and I am so glad I did. I love how little it takes to cover my face. I am extremely fair with red undertones and I ordered the Fair shade. I love how lightweight it is on my skin, NO ITCHING or IRRITATION AT ALL!, and most of all, I love how even my skin looks without looking made up. I just look like I have decent skin. Let me add, I have pocks on my cheeks due to acne along with large pores (this aging process bites!) and this doesn't cover the flaws but it does minimize the look of both the scars and pores. I am starting to get lines by my eyes and again, this does not draw any attention to the lines. If I need to build on this, I can. If I have plans after work, I can easily have a flawless look by using Lancome's translucent mineral powder over it and I am very happy with how I look! I just received a bottle of MISSHA's perfect cover BB cream which is much heavier than Tarte's. So far, Tarte is the winner. I plan to try Skin79 and another one of MISSHA's soon! Once I do, I will update my review! Read more
I usually buy Neutrogena tinted moisturizer but shipping was delayed so I bought this instead. I really didn’t care for the texture, it was a little too airy (for my liking) and looked a lot cakier once applied, like it had less coverage but looked thicker. I do use Tarte under eye concealer exclusively. Read more
This product remains one of my favorites. I use it as a primer, not so much as a moisturizer. Can be worn alone though, and it leaves your skin with a more natural look, except it helps balance skin tone. Read more
