The Series 4 is the low-end model and the Series 6 is the high-end model, whereas the Series 5 sits bang in the middle and is IMHO the best value for features and quality. Picture and audio settings provide outstanding results. And I should mention that Roku (Smart-TV) is probably the best you can get, it truly is awesome, no lag, very easy user interface. There isn't anything to moan about. This TV is freaking awesome. It gets plenty bright enough, contrast and colors are truly outstanding. Very crisp clear picture, and many of the older TV shows dating as far back to 1950 have been processed (upscaled) for various channels such as Disney Plus, Prime and others, resulting in excellent picture quality! The TCL handles this process superbly without any conflicts with its own built-in upscaling. Like I said, the end result is excellent. I will probably buy another TCL. Read more

COLOR & PICTURE IS NEAR PERFECT OUT OF THE BOX! SET-UP IS A BREEZE. HARD TO FIND SMALLER TV WITH ALL THE SMART FEATURES I WANTED WITHOUT SPENDING $1,000+ BUT THIS TV RIVALS THESE EXPENSIVE UNITS. THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS THE REMOTE…IT SUCKS. YOU’D THINK A PREMIUM TV WOULD COME WITH A REMOTE THAT HAS VOICE COMTROL/MICROPHONE BUT IT DOESN’T. OTHER THAN THE REMOTE! The price was right so I purchased this along with the TCL Alto 6 Plus soundbar. The television is remarkably easy to set up, even for someone who has never done it before. The picture is absolutely amazing. However, pairing it with the alto 6 Plus sound bar took a lot of trial and error. I finally got it to work by using the optical cable, and the sound is just as good as the picture. Terrific value for the money, rest assured when you buy this you will be very pleased. Read more

I gave this to my mom for Christmas. Got it all set up and began watching a Christmas movie. About an hour in, the screen went blank. We could hear the movie but no picture. We tried all the trouble shooting , etc... Tv had to be sent back. In all fairness, getting a dud on something isn't unheard of. Just because this one did that doesn't mean all of them will. This TV has a great picture quality and quite decent sound. I bought a sound bar just in case, but I've never had to use it. The only drawback about this TV is that it doesn't have the option to adjust the volume so that the commercials are no louder than the programs. As a result, I have to manually mute the commercials, which are deafening!! Nevertheless, the TV is definitely worth purchasing for the excellent picture quality and Smart technology features, especially since it costs far less than other QLED brands. Screen spontaneously and inexplicably goes black. Had to perform factory resets multiple times. Did not arrive with current software version. Had to call customer service multiple times for troubleshooting. Nice picture, sound quality is fair for a TV of this size. Read more

My use for the 50 inch display is to replace an old 42 inch flat panel in the bedroom. The colors are great, the backlight works well for dark scenes, the sound is loud and clear for my bedroom but sound processing does require me to adjust volume from time to time. Dialog is clear, and I highly recommend using theater setting with surround on. My cons: Aside from the volume processing I already mentioned, the CEC switching is slow at the start when using my Apple TV. Also, one thing that is not spec related, the smell of my panel reeks of Made in China. Now I’ve owned plenty of devices from China, but this unit reeks of some kind of chemical. I notice the smell every time I walk into my bedroom. I aired out my bedroom and wiped down my unit with a microfiber towel plus a small amounts of vinegar, the smell returned. If the smell continues I may exchange the unit. I have an air purifier and that still didn’t help. Aside from the smell the unit works extremely well. I can’t recommend it because of the smell, maybe if you get a larger display in an open room. Read more
