Not very stable at all with a 15" laptop

I planned to use this to operate my laptop with a broken screen in clamshell/slabtop mode with an external monitor. Unfortunately, the whole point of this thing is pretty much moot because it will tip over at the slightest provocation. Even though it has a locking adjustment mechanism to extend the gap between the plates so you can use different devices it's just not wide enough to balance the weight of a 15" laptop. Maybe a smaller or lighter one would work. If you have a small device then it will be fairly sturdy because it's made out of solid metal. It's easy to put together too. I just can't recommend it for a laptop stand because the thing keeps tipping over on me. For something else it's probably great. Read more
