I can’t speak to all the aspects of these. I bought them merely as a precaution for my daughter who hasn’t started yet. I’ve never used period panties and am super jealous she will get to. But these are well made. The stitching is great, they look comfortable. And they are cute. They will be easy enough to wash. They will fit her at some point (I bought a size or two up because we don’t know when she’ll start). I put one of these in each of our “First Period Prep Bags” that I stuck in each car and my purse. These have worked well for our tween...where were they when I was her age!! She is 5'4" about 100lbs. I purchased the 14-16 yr size and they fit well. She says they are soft, stretchy, full coverage, and comfortable and she does not have any sensory issues with them. The protective black material feels a bit thicker than other period underwear I've purchased. She typically uses a pad on her heaviest days and we have not encountered any leak-through; what has made it onto the underwear was absorbed. They are machine washable and dryer safe. We do not use fabric softener - I actually use vinegar in place of fabric softener and our clothes come out soft with no vinegar smell! We also do not use dryer sheets so I'm not sure if residue from those products would affect the absorbancy. Read more

Comfortable and soft made from cotton/spandex material. Internal liner is waterproof but these are NOT extra absorbent. They work great for light flow or as secondary protection when wearing a tampon or cup, but would not work alone during heavy flow. The size guide worked best for actual hip measurement. Make sure to measure hips/bum at the widest part. I wouldn't go by age or weight alone. Read more
