This thing is a perfect size for a home office with any type of flooring. It would be great on carpet to allow the chair to roll properly, but also could be used to protect a hard surface from a days worth of rolling around. I'm using it on some laminate-wood flooring to protect it. It actually dampens the noise of my chair rolling around and glides around easier than before!
