SMALLTOWNMOMMA—February 20, 2026
At first I wasn’t sure if I liked this or not, but the more I’ve used it the more I do like it. My son’s hair is hard to get to lay down. I usually soak his head and use a lot of gel and hairspray. Then we are left with stiff crunchy hair. With this powder I have learned a lot goes a long way! Be careful when you turn the bottle over it will fall out quickly! It is a small bottle, but since it doesn’t take much it should last a long while. A few things… it doesn’t make your hair sticky but it does make it have an unusual matte texture to it. Not bad, just different to me considering I’ve never used a powder for his hair. I usually will lightly dampen my son’s hair to get it to somewhat lay down then apply the powder. The powder does give me more styling hold with his hair. After I have it fixed I lightly spray it with hairspray. When he gets out of school his hair is usually all over the place because he plays with it during the day, but I can run my hands through it and it will go right back to looking the way it did when I styled it that morning. I will give this product an A+! Read more

Initial Thoughts: As the Silver Fox himself (obviously), I’m always testing products that keep the mane looking sharp without turning it into helmet hair. This texture powder promised matte finish, 24-hour hold, works on all hair types (including thick, wavy silver), and that effortless tousled vibe. I usually reach for shaping clay for flexible hold and easy finger-through-ability, but figured this powder could be a solid alternative for days when I want more root lift and texture without the greasy feel. Spoiler: it delivers volume like crazy, but it’s got a mind of its own. Review: Works well. I like to run my fingers through my hair, but it is too stiff for that, and will add volume to your hair that you’ll have to wet your hands to flatten again. The powder is super fine and easy to apply—just shake a little into your palm, work it into dry roots, and boom: instant lift and matte texture that makes silver hair pop without looking shiny or oily. The 24-hour hold claim is legit; it keeps everything in place through wind, humidity, even a long patio cigar session. Volume is insane—great for thinning spots or when you want that full, thick fox look. But the downside: once it sets, it’s stiff. Running fingers through is not recommended, and if you want to restyle mid-day, you basically need to wet your hands (or head) to break the hold. Compared to my go-to shaping clay (softer, reworkable all day), this powder locks in harder—perfect if you set it and forget it, but not ideal for the “finger-through-it-constantly” lifestyle. No strong scent (subtle, clean), washes out easily, and a little goes a long way. Overall 4/5 stars—great for volume and matte texture on silver hair, solid alternative to clay when you want more grip, but dial back expectations if you love re-tousling. Tips or Hacks: - Silver fox pro move: Apply to dry hair —focus on roots for max lift, then lightly rake through mid-lengths with fingers before it fully sets (gives that tousled look before it stiffens). - Hold adjustment hack: Use less powder than you think (start with a pea-size amount)—build up if needed; too much = instant helmet mode. - Restyle tip: A little water in your hands and your hair is pliable again. - Clay vs. powder switch: Use this on days you want serious texture/volume (photo ops, events), stick with clay for everyday flexible finger-through freedom. Conclusion: This texture powder is a strong contender for the Silver Fox arsenal—delivers killer matte volume, 24-hour hold, and makes those gorgeous silver locks look thicker and more styled with zero shine. It’s a great alternative to shaping clay when you’re going for that set-it-and-forget-it tousled look, but it does lock in stiff—perfect if you’re not constantly running fingers through (or don’t mind a quick wet-hand reset). If volume is your main goal and you can handle the firmness, add to cart—it’ll keep the fox looking sharp from morning cigar to evening wind-down. 🦊💨🛍️ Read more

This stuff works like women's dry shampoo that comes in a can, but this is a powder you shake onto your hair. I normally get oily looking hair in the morning, after showering the evening before. My images are of my oily looking hair, the amount I used, and the final result. It does take the oily look from the hair and allows for you to style it while holding it in place, but there is a bit of a different texture to it after using the product. This is my first time using it, and I assume it is how dry shampoo works when my wife uses it as well. The feel isn't sticky, but it also isn't smooth either. It feels like there is a small amount of styling product in the hair, well because I guess there is. LOL The package is small, but I have no doubt this product will last quite a while. Ease of use, I would say 5 stars. Portability, due to size and weight (very light cintainer) 5 stars. I really can't think of anything negative about this product, other than I accidentally shook too much out at first. My fault, not the product's. If you are looking for something to throw on your oily looking hair to fix it up in a hurry, this will do the trick! Read more
