Adequate Overall with BAD Engineering and Shoddy Assembly
This thing does what it advertises: weighs people accurately using a relatively large platform. Now for the gripes... It is NOT a Detecto scale, it is a "Cardinal/Detecto" made in China for Cardinal Scale Mfg. Co. of Missouri. Second gripe: The data cord that connects the platform (the scale) to its electronics is not properly anchored in the side of the electronics package because the grommet (or whatever it is called) that normally secures a cord to an appliance was pulled-out. Third gripe: The same cord---the one that connects the weighing platform to the electronics--- is too short so that the electronics package must be mounted absurdly low to prevent the cord from un-weighting the platform and thereby giving a too-low reading. Forth gripe: The electronics package cannot be mounted onto a wall facing up because the electronics slam into the mounting bracket. Do these companies not use engineers? In fact, do they not use brains. These problems are so stupid and easily prevented that it makes one wonder... In the end, I kept it and fixed all the problems myself. Why did I keep it?
