Very nice product. Super slick and eliminates most of my irritation. It has a nice subtle sandalwood scent that is just enough. It fits snugly in the wooden brown so there is no spinning of the soap when whipping a lather. I have gone straight to my face from the soap and also from the soap to a mug then my face... Either way works. This product is more expensive than a lot of other soaps but it will last a long time. I haven't even scrubbed the brand stamp off the soap after 5x week use for a month. Read more

We have purchased this year after year for my husband’s shaving. It has a nice soft sandalwood sense that is not overpowering but very subtle. The bowl is very nice and last as long as the soap. I find that the bowl degrades overtime so I just replace it every time he needs a new soap. I love this because it is earthy and beautiful and someone elegant. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Read more

I have used different premium shave creams for a number of years (Kiehls, Art of Shaving Cream, Jack Black, Anthony Logistics, Lab Series, and a few others). This was my first shave soap, and I am very happy with it. It lathers up very well, and creates a thick cushion between the blade and the skin. If you have a badger brush, I would recommend this. The soap lasts a long time, and the lavender is very very light, so will not make you smell like your mother's old perfume. I was able to pick up this set (bowl and soap) for at least $11 cheaper than at the store, so I am very happy with the price as well. Read more

This is fifty-dollar soap folks. This is literally soap that you're paying fifty dollars for. And it's worth every penny. I was a little skeptical at first, but having tried this soap, I am sold and will come back to buy more when my current supply runs out. This did wonders for my face upon using it for the first time, and it only got better from there. I shaved with this once and noticed that my face looked 5 years younger. It's really worth every penny, folks. Read more

This soap easily produces a nice lather and smells great. I used the Art of Shaving cream and think this product is better. The wood bowl is nice and looks good by my sink. Refills of this soap cost 30 dollars. Don't be fooled by the price, this product will last a very long time. Read more

When I first got into wet shaving, I asked a co-worker who also wet shaves what shave soap he uses. He told me this one. So, I tried it. It's not a bad soap, to be honest. It works well enough. I find that there are cheaper soaps out there that are more slick and develop a nicer lather in the same amount of time (let's be honest, if you bowl lather, you can get a nice lather out of anything. you just need to put a few more minutes into whipping up a lather). For instance, Stirling is literally 1/4 the price of this stuff, and is a great tallow soap that develops a great lather and is super slick. AoS soap does have that clay smell that everyone talks about. It's pretty floral for a sandalwood scent. It's pleasant, but personally, I think I like TOBS or D.R. Harris sandalwood scent more. It's a hard soap and it seems to last forever (and trust me, I don't skimp on loading the brush when whipping up lather...better too much than too little, imo). AoS is definitely proud of their products, and many people do like them. I just find that there are many artisan soap makers who make soaps that perform just as well or better for less than what AoS charges. Read more

Excellent product and great shave. Product has pleasant aroma and lather is rich. I expect the soap to lady several months and is worth the money. It doesn't have any of the harsh chemicals that most shave products have. (See the Environmental working group's website to compare it with others). Read more
