This game is such a blast. On my first playthrough, I just went in "blind-folded". I didn't look up any guides or read too much into the game. I just heard good things about it, and played all the way through. I love how this game doesn't outlast its welcome. It feels like a good solid adventure, and I must've blazed through between six and eight hours. That said, the game has tons of replay value. I'm on my second playthrough, and just having a blast. This time, I AM using guides, because I want to work my way through the platinum trophy. It's just as much fun later on. The actors in this game did a really good job. I noticed several of them later on in TV shows, and the story-telling is just great. I'm more of a hands-on type of gamer that plays more arcade and fighting style games, but I'm glad that I gave this one a chance. It is not really challenging per se, but you can definitely get eaten alive if you're not careful. This game was very engaging and pulled me right in. I loved the forest-camp settings, and it really made me want to go to a nature reserve or camp in real life and go on my own adventure. I really recommend wearing some noise-cancelling headphones or being in an otherwise quiet place while playing this game. The sound just adds to the eerie, campy atmosphere. I don't want to forget to mention that this game has some funny moments, and all-around great writing and acting. Highly recommended for those who like narrative adventure games, or someone like me who generally doesn't but wanted to try something different. Read more

Supermassive games the creators of Until Dawn are back with an amazing horror rollercoaster of a game! The last 3 years we’ve had 3 new games from this studio and they’re a new series called “The Dark Pictures Anthology” and while some people have enjoyed them they’ve mostly been underwhelming in comparison to Until Dawn which was there first game back in 2015 and notably a bear seller for the PS4. Well here we are 7 years later and we finally have not only a worthy successor but a horror masterpiece! I will also mention that this game is all about story. So I will do my very best not to spoil that aspect in any way. Let’s start with positives. 1. Amazing visuals and sound design 2. A story that grips you from the beginning 3. A great cast of unique characters 4. Replay value for different outcomes Now for my negatives. 1. Not enough gameplay variety 2. The game is mostly spent watching cutscenes than actually participating in actual gameplay 3. Cutscenes cannot be skipped (gets annoying after the third play through) 4. No online multiplayer at launch So to some everything up I loved this game from start to finish and only had a few minor annoying things to mention. If you love horror and a great story I HIGHLY recommend. Not only is this the best game game of 2022 so far. It’s the best horror game of this generation! Read more

This video game is perfect for older teens! It has a fun and engaging storyline that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The characters are interesting, the graphics are great, and the missions are challenging without being frustrating. It’s the kind of game that’s hard to put down because you just want to see what happens next. Definitely a great pick for teens who love adventure and a good story! Read more

Delivers what you'd expect from the creators of Until Dawn and the Dark Pictures Anthology from QTEs, branching story decisions, and the latest multi-platform friendly version of the "Don't Move" mechanic. Contains a solid cast of likable (though none particularly lovable or hateable) playable characters and a mixed bag of performances from its supporting cast. The game can be played in a variety of modes: including solo, couch co-op, auto-play, and something that amounts to an online mode where one person plays and the rest participate in polls on what that first person should do for critical decisions. As with previous titles, players are encouraged to replay the game to explore the different choices or try to get a better/worse outcome. Luckily the pace of the game largely holds up during replays, but there is one chapter (out of ten) that tends to drag on due to the amount of exposition. Overall this was a fantastic gaming experience, both mechanically and narratively superior to most of the Dark Pictures Anthology and a worthy spiritual successor to the fan favorite, Until Dawn, that put Supermassive Games on the map. I love a good spooky summer camp tale. Who doesn’t? The Quarry sets itself up as a classic teen camp survival horror in an engaging cinematic world, with an all-star cast of impressively fleshed out characters. For lovers of tarot, the occult, southern gothic aesthetics and good old fashioned creature features - this one’s for you. The graphics are BEAUTIFUL. Seriously. I’ve played through the game maybe 5 times now, and I always end up taking at least 100 screenshots as I play. The controls are easy enough to master, especially if you enable accessibility features for timed choices and QTE. I will say though, things get a littttle clunky when navigating through certain areas, but it’s nothing to rage quit over. The acting performances are excellent. Hardly a surprise, considering the talent comprising this ensemble cast, but still such a pleasure to witness nonetheless. The dialogue manages to still feel natural even if some of the jokes lean to the corny side, and it’s always fun to see what consequences come from the player’s choices in conversation and elsewhere. I’m a fan! The Quarry is a modern classic in my opinion, and is an excellent addition to any horror game fan’s library. Read more
