I love this show and I am so excited for season 5!! The Walking Dead is truly one of the best shows ever made. I hesitated to even watch the first Episode of Season 1 because I am simply not interested in "Zombie" shows or "Scary" shows in general. Until one morning when I was bored and decided I would try it on Netflix and figured if I didn't like it I would just turn it off. Three days later I came out of what can only be described as a "The Walking Dead" coma. Eager for more I soon found that I could watch Season Three episodes the day after they aired here on Amazon. I cancelled my other subscription and have been avidly following it here ever since. For anyone who thinks this is simply going to be another "Zombie" show. WRONG. This is one of the most brilliant human interest epics of all time. I seriously recommend checking this show out. It's unlikely that you'll be disappointed. EDIT: Just got done with Episode 1!! WOW!! What a way to start Season 5. If you are not familiar with this show, start at the beginning, as it truly needs to be watched from that point. Thank you so much Amazon and AMC for streaming it here. I am 100% OKAY with waiting until the next day to watch the new episodes. I also LOVE the new Season Pass option (previously a season pass automatically bought each episode at a discounted price each week). I'd rather just pay for the season pass up front and have it out of the way, rather then have it deducted each week. FYI to all the people complaining. The "24hr" wait, which is in reality a 6-12hr wait is AMC's doing, not Amazon. The cable channel is doing a cool thing even letting their new content be streamed here, but you can bet money that they aren't going to fight for ratings on their cable channel with an online streaming service when their new episodes air. That would just be bad for business. Also, the new episode won't be available until tomorrow, so there is no episode to buy yet. Once the episode is available, then you will be able to purchase each available episode individually if that's your preferred method. If you buy the season pass you will already PRE own all the episodes and be able to watch them as they become available without any other purchases (no, you cannot watch the whole season before its aired on T.V. through this service). So, I repeat, you can STILL purchase each episode individually as it becomes available for viewing (though the season pass gives you a pretty decent discount off the total price vs buying them all separately). Which seems like it would only require basic logic to understand. You do also realize that negatively reviewing the season pass and viewing delay only brings down the ratings for the show and has no impact on Amazon or AMC's policies right? If you don't like their service then contact their customer support department and complain. Read more

Season Five begins with one of the most exciting and triumphant episodes they've ever aired (No Sanctuary). It's my favorite in the entire series. Though I believe most people would agree about that rock 'em sock 'em episode, there's a lot of divergence in opinion about the rest of this season. Critics loved it and applauded it's development of the characters and its ability to keep up with a number of separate strands., Others found the middle dragged with too much given over to the trapped situation of a character who had been fairly minor until now. Others were bummed by the down and desperate tone of Episode 10 (Them), though I found that a really truthful portrayal of just how grim a life on the road would be. It can't all be heroics and zombie killings. The second half of the season gradually introduces a whole new scene and many new characters and will obviously pay off next season. As usual there is a powerful season finale. Definitely worth seeing. Accept it for what it is, not just a fantasy of what someone would rather have it be. WORTH SEEING TWICE. I'm glad I got these from Amazon (as HD streaming) because it allows me to see each episode more than once. I just finished watching the whole series to the end of ssn.5 and it was well worth it. The first time around you'e so caught up in the plot, the tension, the wondering if a character is going to be killed by the zombies, that you miss a lot. Seeing it all a second time allowed me to pick up on many small details I missed the first time as well as many nuances of the characters. Also, it's much better without blocks of ads if you caught it first on AMC. I really highly recommend owning the whole series. Read more

OK folks, yes it's zombies, but it is NOT about zombies. Yes, I said it, ZOMBIES, because that is what most of the non-waking public of non-zombie watchers calls them. The show is about the people surviving in a world that has been turned on its ear. How do you start the world all over again? It is a form of caveman days revisited with cars that run on scrounged gasoline, and your food from old canned goods or a lucky-find fruit tree. Your mind is constantly thinking of how to solve their problems for them. Much of the day to day minutiae is not really covered or the show would cover nothing but where they found a meal for a day. As you wind your way through all the seasons of the Walking Dead the battle for survival on a 24 hour basis runs the gamut of finding shelter, finding food, fighting walkers, fighting other survivors, finding a cure, finding other civilized survivors, finding survivors that aren't lying about being civilized, and basically trying find some kind of a normal life among the chaos. The Walking Dead is the number one show for a reason, it delivers on every level of entertainment. There are no scenes of happy people purchasing new cars and going on luxury hotel excursions. Not sleeping on the ground is a triumph for the cast of the Dead. It is bloody and gory at times, and touching and gripping maybe minutes later. The cast is made up of veritable no-names who are now famous worldwide. Watch it to follow the people and their desperate existence, and not for the reanimated DEAD. The DEAD are merely obstacles in a rocky road of survival that features far more nasty pitfalls than the lumbering masses. Start at Season one, no cheating. Season one is amazing, and builds to become more shocking by the 5th. Read more
