I've seen Thread Spread linens before and since I was in true need of another set of pillowcases for guest bedroom pillows, thought I'd get a set since they're 100% cotton and the correct size. They're pretty stiff right out of the box, but the fibers relaxed a bit after the first wash (like most cotton bedding) and seem like they will continue to soften over time. Mine had numerous loose threads on them as well so make sure you pick them off before throwing them in the wash! No biggie. Sizing is accurate for standard/queen pillows, and I'm able to tuck in the extra fabric into back into the pillowcase on my standard pillows just as I like to do. no biggie. Read more

Cases were advertised as luxurious quality cotton cases. You get 2 in a box and right out of the box they have a nice heft as well as sheen. I always wash items before use and after a couple washings put the cases on my pillows. Easily fit over queen pillows, easily slid over my king sized as well. After a couple washings the sheen on the cases was still there because it's due to the tight weave of the fabric and not anything else. A couple of washings made the heavy cotton fabric less stiff but it still had a heavy body to it but it was softer than before washing. I suspect as these get used and washed that they will get softer still. I absolutely LOVE these cases. I've been looking for pillow cases that had some body to them (in other words were not just thin satin poly cases) but were soft almost like satin. I do not think these are as sleek or soft as satin but they are close. For me I'd rather have a heavy duty case than something that's flimsy. My only warning on these cases is that they are white, pure white. If you are someone who wears lots of makeup, you're going to want to remove your makeup face before planting it on these cases because you would absolutely leave your makeup face on these cases and I'd imagine the makeup pigment would be pretty hard to get out. I think these cases are a very good value. I expect them to hold up a long time. As long as I don't stain the pure white cases with anything, they should be in service for a while.
