TLDR: Well built, strong magnet, good stickiness of 3M tape This is a good phone mount, and I want to emphasize good because it lacks a little bit of functionality as other similar priced phone mounts. The magnet does a great job of holding the phone in place, but the base can be a little unstable after a long day in the sun. Otherwise the included 3M tape does a great job of keeping things stuck to the dash. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra with a rugged phone case, which is a bit heavy for some of these phone mounts. The overall strength of the magnet is terrific and the arm allows for great flexibility and movement to put the phone in the position that I wanted to be in. The sticky adhesive does a great job, but after sitting in the heat for several hours it loses some of its stickiness and begins to sag. I'm sure that if I did not readjust it it would eventually fall, especially on a longer road trip or a bumpy road. Overall build quality is excellent, and I have no doubts about it’s longevity. Were it not for my phone's case thickness, this would be even more impressive. OR, I can add the included ring to the outside of the case for the optimal MagSafe experience. At its value I can't expect charging, but that would be an improvement well worth paying extra for in future versions. My iPhone 13 Pro Max is heavy, and unless I use the adhesive mount, the base tips over if I try to interact with the phone or hit a rough patch in the road. - Adhesive Is Required for Stability: The adhesive is probably strong, but I prefer a mount I can easily move between inside my house and my car. Without sticking it down, the base just isn't stable enough for me. This is a very sturdy phone car mount and the mount itself is very stable. While other users have not liked that the hinges are hard to move, in my experience this is very necessary to keep the arm and device from falling. I have tried other adjustable phone mounts in the past, and if you’re not able to tightly secure the arms, the angle at which you position the device will constantly move and cause the phone to fall. The fact that the arms are stiff keeps this sturdy, and I like the build of the mount, itself. What I don’t like about this device is the magnet setup. I have a standard size iPhone, and the magnet strength is not enough to hold the phone to the stand while the phone is positioned vertically towards the driver. The only way to keep my phone on the stand is if I tilt the platform at a backwards angle, but that makes it more difficult to see the screen while driving. Compared to other car mounts that I’ve tried, the magnet setup seems a little weak and I needed to position the mount in a way where the base of the phone could rest on the dash for stabilization. Overall I like this, but I find the magnet cheap so you might need to play around with how to best position the mount and the arms so your phone doesn’t fall off. I definitely don’t agree with the claims on one of the marketing/listing pics that says the magnet can hold 44lbs and 8 iPhone 16s. I can’t get it to hold one unless positioned a certain way.
