It fits well, and is easily adjustable, and works very well for my use: keeping my wrist and thumb immobilized in a "neutral" (straight but relaxed) position, to help heal golfer's elbow, or medial epicondylitis. This takes stress off the ligaments to lower inflammation and pain. It is somewhat flexible even once fastened snugly, so you can still wear it to do most work, especially if it is not your dominant hand. I can wear it to do most childcare and other daily work activities: such as lift or hold a child or object without bending my wrist; hold foodstuffs to cut or peel them; engage in imaginative play with most toys; change diapers; or even clean (with a plastic or latex glove over it). Writing and other small motor hand uses would be harder, but it's my non-dominant hand, so no problem for me. Even knitting (which takes both hands) is possible because it offers enough support, but allows the rest of my fingers to move. I wore it most of the day for the first two weeks, taking it off briefly to wash my hands, give my skin a chance to recover, and dry out. I also wore it at night at first. Now I only wear it at night because I am strengthening the muscles and the flexibility of ligaments with PT, and need to be sure I'm not accidentally bending my wrist at night, and leaving it in that position. Occasionally, my hand swells a bit and the brace leaves dents in my skin from pressure, but they disappear quickly. If you get really hot wearing it and sweat in it a lot, you will want to machine wash it, preferably in a lingerie bag on cold, several times per week. But if you don't sweat a lot in your hand and wrist, you can wear it for quite a while without washing it and it still doesn't smell bad, as long as you let it dry completely before using it again when it gets wet. Excellent product, delivered quickly. Had ordered another brand which was delayed, lost etc. So this was my next choice. It has helped the pain of the wrist tendonitis, and more importantly I believe it is finally getting a chance to heal...impossible Not to use your thumb doing everyday simple stuff, so I kept aggravating it. This brace effectively immobilizes the thumb but still allows you to use your hand and grasp. Very easy to put on and take off. It's recommended to wear 24/7, which I didn't do at first... I took it off to sleep and discovered I apparently clench my hand a lot at night. Keep it on. Very comfortable, and soft. It does get a little sweaty underneath (thanks GA heat and humidity) and its a dog hair magnet hehe...next use will be a lint brush. Read more
Used for pain in the thumb area. Wore this faithfully and it works wonders. Def recommend. The only suggestion I would have is that there is a Velcro piece that goes around the thumb. It is really not durable maybe they could make this more durable. Other than that great product! Read more
I sustained a right wrist injury resulting from an electric scooter crash. This wrist brace is not medical grade quality but it also doesn't have a medical grade price tag attached to it!!!! This brace is perfect for my injury as it provides enough support to immobilize my wrist area to prevent further injury while performing minor tasks. I have medium size hands and it fits like a glove, nice and soft with no scratchy areas touching my skin. The fact that it's reversible, left or right hand, is a plus since that saves me money. I pulled the tendons in my hand about three years ago and I wear these and it gives my wrists great support. What I don't like about it which is not the manufacturer's fault, but they don't last very long, I work in a warehouse and I'm very rough with my hands I wish there was something on the same line but a little bit more durable. This wrist support does the job of supporting my wrist and restricting big movement. I have tendinitis and without this I move and twist my wrist, and it’s very painful. I’ve had it for 5 months and it’s still is good condition. With that said, the strap rubs the area between my thumb and finger and can be uncomfortable. It supports my thumb well and gives me relief from discomfort. My suggestion for an improvement involves making the part of the glove that covers the heel of the palm out of something with greater grip than the material that it is currently made of. This glove is just right for my jammed thumb and it is a very good quality. The company that sells it is a very good company. I ordered another one after I realized this glove was worth the money.
