This backpack has so many compartments... pockets inside pockets... padded, mesh, zippered... in fact I even discovered one I hadn't known about for WEEKS leading up to taking pics for the review! There are two main compartments for the majority of your large items. The rear large pocket has two separate padded sections that could hold two laptops or laptop+tablet in separate padded slots. The other large pocket is for everything else - books, clothes, supplies. It also has inner zippered compartments. Then there's the smaller front pocket, also containing a variety of inner compartments for pens, small accessories, etc, and two even smaller (but not too small) pockets on the front as well. There's also a removable keychain on a ribbon inside one of the front compartments. Finally, the one I almost didn't realize, is a small zippered pouch along the back, hidden under a horizontal strap, that could be great for hiding your most valuable items like a passport and cash. There are so many different places to stash things that I'm still getting used to where I keep which smaller items. The only thing this backpack DOESN'T have is exterior side pockets for drink bottles. Alas. The genuine leather looks and feels so premium. After several weeks of rough use, it's developing various scuffs and scratches and looks like it will eventually patina. It is a soft finish and this wear is to be expected and will continue to look good as the weathered look becomes more uniform. The zippers are a timeless brass finish and feel heavy duty. The shoulder straps are freely adjustable and have matching brass-colored metal clasps to lock them in place. The inner lining of the shoulder straps and back portion is a breathable mesh, but everything seen on the outside is real leather. As for capacity, I've already mentioned that you can fit a LOT in here, but as far as laptops go, each padded compartment is more than ample for a 15" laptop, and I've even been able to zip it closed with a 17" gaming laptop in it. However, with the 17" laptop, the edges and corners were pressed too close to the sides for me to feel comfortable about any drops or collisions. But it does fit and close. Made with fine leather in a handsome medium dark brown color. This backpack offers generous storage, rugged, materials with clean stitching, and sturdy thick zippers to keep everything secure. It's not particularly lightweight but I think the little bit of extra weight is worth the peace of mind that the leather provides in protecting your things from damage. The laptop pocket easily holds my 10 inch tablet in a pocket that opens from the back. The main compartment fit a change of clothes and a standard size shaving kit well. The smaller front facing pockets held electronics, headphones, and a power bank without any issue. The slots for cards, the lanyard for keys, and the inside zipper pocket in the front are great additions that keep your things organized and safe. I found the straps easy to adjust and comfortable for longer trips. The back panel has a built in breathable mesh that keeps your back from getting too sweaty with lengthy wear as well. This size is acceptable for carry on and overhead storage in most planes and trains and is suitable for commutes as well as longer trips. The look is very appealing and resembles a backpack that could pass for a more expensive kind without costing nearly as much.
